"My husband and I rented this cottage for a week. Had my 11 and 6 year old grandchildren up for 3 days and they spent 90 percent of the time in the water. You can go out at least 100 yards and it was still up to their waist. They were in heaven! Sandy beach and the house is amazing! All the conveniences of home. Grilled out and had the fire pit going every night. The owner is amazing! Was leery when I went to VRBO but so happy we found it."

"The house was just what we needed for our group of six, which included three children. The lake views were fantastic, including ships and in the distance a view of the Mackinaw bridge. The beach is rocky, which our kids loved. Water was cold as expected so we went to Mullet lake to swim. We were very close to some many attractions, and some of our favorites were Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, Saint Ignace, Castle Rock, Ocqueoc Falls, Mullet Lake, Downtown Cheboygan, and McGulphin Point Lighthouse. There are several state parks in the area, and playgrounds which kept the kids happy. We plan to return and venture further into the U.P. Only downsides to this rental was no wifi, and lack of AC (which was only a minor concern during the first two days when temperatures were unseasonably high). You should bring a couple fans. The owner was very accommodating and the house was ready for us. Kayaks were a nice touch, and onsite laundry was helpful. The fire pit was nice in the evening as we enjoyed the beautiful sunsets with some s'mores. Great rental for the price!"

"We really enjoyed our stay here. It was the perfect house for our large group! This wonderful lodge was big, secluded and very relaxing. We slept 25 people easily and had a BLAST!!! The dinning room was HUGE with a gorgeous deck looking out into the nature. There is plenty room for parking in the front and on the side of the house! The swimming hole is a perfect place to cool off on a hot day. We loved this house so much that we are comming for a reunion every year , I really recommend it to everyone who needs a home away from home!"

"Could not have asked for a better location! Just a block from the bike trail and a short distance from town. Private, no traffic, and right on the water! Launched kayaks in front and lots of parking for boat trailer, etc.. Did not need A/C or furnace while we were there. Loved the museums and local history. Tawas State Park was great! Great places to eat. Home was very well equipment. Friendly neighbors. WIFI was great, too. VERY clean with great cooking utensils! All on one floor. Do not think twice about renting this one! Washer/Dryer, stove and frig looked almost new. Not a lot of beach to walk on because of the unusually high lake level this year, but there are a couple of great, free beaches just a 5 minute drive away."
