  • Nice Little Cottage

"Everything we needed for the weekend except for food and clothing was in the cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped, including a waffle iron, and coffee maker. The bedrooms are small but adequate, and we used a fan which came with the cottage to keep the bedrooms cool at night when we slept. Towels and linens were provided with the cottage, so no need to bring along towels unless you want them for use on the beach. The property is adjacent to a canal which leads into Otsego Lake. The canal is suitable for boats, but not swimming. For swimming there is the county park with a beach nearby , as well as the state park and a public beach. Our deposit was returned a week after we vacated the cottage."

  • Great cottage on the shore!

"My wife, adult son and I spent a week at the cottage near the fall foliage peak. The cottage met and exceeded our expectations. The welcoming gift package was well enjoyed and we enjoyed the MOOSE theme. On our first day there we committed to counting ALL the moose but we never completed the mission and I suspect we could not have arrived at an accurate count! The week we were there was unfortunately very rainy yet we remained very busy visiting sites in the area and we truly enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The cottage is very well appointed and very well equipped. We prepare most of our meals and I cannot think of any kitchen item which was not supplied. The yard and beach are awesome and the cottage is so convenient to town, just a couple minutes away. It is so much better than staying in a cramped motel room. Everything was so clean and nicely appointed, I cannot think of a single criticism. Thank you so much Dick and Sue for the great accommodations. We also playing with the nostalgic games and engaging books! We would not hesitate to return again in the future. With the Headlands International Dark Sky Park, Wilderness State park, McGulpin Point lighthouse and Fort Michilmackinac all within a few minutes there is so much to do without even spending a minute in town or on the island. Great place to visit and much thanks for your reasonable rate during our stay."

  • Great Place for a Fantastic Week Up-North

"My family (wife and 2 kids; ages 4 and 7) and I stayed at the house for a week in August. The home was as described and had everything we needed for our stay. There was plenty of room inside for all of us and our stuff. The beach area is a bit rocky (this is Lake Huron after all) so you should probably bring water shoes, but overall the lakefront is beautiful. There's a nice lighthouse view and you'll be treated to a steady stream of freighters and other large boats passing by. The constant lapping of the waves on the shore is one of the most relaxing sounds imaginable, and makes for great background "noise" as you end your day by a bonfire. Location is perfect: a short drive to downtown Cheboygan and only a half hour or so to Mackinaw City, so the house works great as a launching pad to other are activities. Some of our favorites were: Mackinac Island, Ocqueoc Falls, and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park."
