  • Pure Michigan Lake Cottage

"If you're looking for a private, quiet, cozy and homey cottage on the edge of Cross Village's Lake Michigan beach, look no longer. This cottage should be in a "Pure Michigan" commercial, complete with it's idyllic setting along the beyond words beautiful "Tunnel of Trees" of M-119. The charming family built cottage has intriguing artistic touches throughout as well as on abundance of books and games for everyone. These play second fiddle, however, to the competition presented by Mother Nature right outside the beach side French doors a few gently sloping steps to Lake Michigan! The golden sunsets make easy work of ones' camera lens, and continue to shine in a lifetime of memories with a simple request. The only downside we've found here is leaving..."

  • Perfect up north getaway

"My husband and I spent a week here with his parents, siblings, a baby and an uncle. There was plenty of room for everyone and also plenty of space to hang out. The dining room was excellent for eating in and the kitchen was roomy and well equipped. The tiled showers were very nice and clean and the bathrooms overall were nice as well. Great location, wonderful wine tasting options, close enough to traverse city... Thank you!"

  • Perfect Family Retreat

"Wow! What a place! Pure joy and excitement as soon as we pulled up! We were so impressed with the house I don't know where to start. First, the house is beautiful on the outside, absolutely magnificent gardens, pathways, fire pits, porches, etc. The inside is just as pretty. Huge, stone fireplace, kitchen with all the amenities, great loft above the garage, I could go on and on. The property was clean as a whistle and I absolutely want to live here forever! Our favorite spot was the front porch. The view of Lake Michigan is excellent. The back porch was great too, we just couldn't pass up looking at the lake, since you don't get a view like that everyday. I was up at 6 a.m. one day(6 month old) and saw a freighter go by with all it's lights on, in the pitch black, it was such a cool sight! My children enjoyed the green grass, fire pits, and basement rec room. The way the owners thought out the whole place is top notch. We can't wait to book a future trip!"

  • Perfect location for 3-generation getaway

"This was just right for our Labor Day family getaway "Up North" with six adults and two children ages 3 and 4. The house was spacious enough that we never felt like we were on top of each other, and I think that has a lot to do with the remodeling that the owner must have recently done -- I loved the separate dining space off the entrance, and the upper level is just stunning. There was a desk for those who needed to get some work done (unfortunately!). Our little ones loved the small bedroom off the upstairs, and the adjacent den was a great spot for them to watch movies and play yet still be close enough that the adults could hear all was well. The lake is "across the street," but we're talking about 15 steps and you're there. The kitchen is VERY well-equipped -- plenty of dishes and glasses for everyone without having to run the dishwasher constantly. The old stove worked SO great! One burner seemed a little less hot but hey, that's part of the charm. Everything was in working order, and the house is even nicer than the photos make it seem. The porch swing, or "swing chair" as my 3 year old called it, was a HUGE hit with the kids and adults. And the small fire pit/ring in the front yard was JUST perfect for s'mores after dinner. Like others have said in reviews, the location is grand as well -- away from the high prices of Traverse City but close enough that you can go to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, etc., and not feel like you've been in the car the whole trip. There are two large, well-stocked grocery stores only a couple miles away, which made making meals at home convenient and easy. The only *slight* negative was the size of the bedrooms on the lower level, especially the one that uses the bathroom in the hallway, but after one night, we felt like it was just part of the cozy charm. We would stay again in a heartbeat."
