  • Great family time!

"We stayed here with another family and skied at Crystal Mountain. The home is beautifully furnished and immaculate. There are plenty of towels, a well stocked kitchen, and room to spread out. The owners have thought of everything. Thank you for sharing this great property!"

"Perfect rental home: clean, well-provisioned, spacious, comfortable rental property. No suprises, the location is accurate (we walked to the beach every day) and the photos are a true likeness of the rooms in the house. All the beds were very comfortable (no V dipping in the middle!) and the kitchen was very easy to work in. We were there in July so there was much more sunlight in the rooms than seen in the photos which was appreciated. We also really appreciated the mud-room, the large entrance room at the back of the house (not pictured) for leaving everything which was covered in sand. The questions posed to the owner were promptly answered, she was always available, friendly and polite. The Dunes, Leelanau wineries, the Franfort ligthouse, Beulah were all within easy driving distance of the rental. The easy distance to Lake Michigan meant we were able to really enjoy the lake - okay, it was july, so the water temperature was more than just bearable. The IGA grocery store in Frankfort was a godsend, well supplied with fresh meat, fruit and vegetables. And much better priced and supplied than the IGA in Onekema. If ever we are in this neck of the woods again, we would definitely book a stay here."

"This is our seventh year vacationing at Thistle Dew, and it was awesome for the first five days. The house is cozy and welcoming, with a beautiful kitchen for making special meals after a long day at the beach. The views are something I never get tired of, whether it's morning, noon or sunsets with a glass or two of wine on the beach deck. This year, for the first time, we experienced not one, but two emergency situations. Both could have turned out badly. We were unfamiliar with where to find a hospital or vet and to make matters worse, it was the middle of the night. Thankfully, Barb and Jamie have a binder in the kitchen for just this possibility. In both cases, we grabbed the pages we needed, complete with directions to get there and took care of the situations. I will be forever grateful. We love Thistle Dew and have become friends with the wonderful couple who have opened the property to vacationers. The area has gorgeous scenery and lots to do for everyone in the family. After seven years, we still have new adventures every time we go there."
