"This house was both beautiful and comfortable a combination you don't often find. Plenty of space for 8 adults, 1 teen and 5 children. The kids loved the family room and at times we barely knew they were there. The cook in me loved the kitchen and we ate every meal at the house. 2 refrigerators was a huge plus when cooking for 14 people. The huge dining room table allowed us to have meals together and the bar allowed us to set up the food and have people serve themselves. 6 bedrooms allowed everyone to have their personal space and 3 bathrooms with 14 people were great for getting ready in the morning. There were 2 bedrooms downstairs and 4 bedrooms upstairs. For us the best part was that each kids bedroom (a full over twin bunk bed) had a queen bedroom next to it for the parents. Sitting around the fireplace at night was a great place for conversations and storytelling about the days activities. We especially loved the up north feel of the house and the kids named the Elk head over the fireplace Bob. Our days activities consisted of trips to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire Beach, Grand Traverse Lighthouse, Leeland with it's Fishtown and Frankfort. But you wouldn't have to leave the Crystal Mountain resort area at all. The kids had a blast doing the Mountain Slide, the water park, the rock wall and the overhead obstacle course and zip line. There is an extra charge for those but if you buy the family fun card you get 20 activities for $159, which considering that the card can be shared between multiple kids we felt that was reasonable. There are free concerts several nights a week and the Michigan Art Legacy park onsite and they even sent a cart around to pick people up and bring them back to their homes. We also enjoyed watching the golfers, had a deer in the yard one morning and the kids loved hunting stray golf balls. I want to give a shout out to Ron the caretaker, who responded quickly to some questions we had and was very helpful and pleasant to speak to. The owner Brian also was responsive and helpful and answered all the questions I had prior to our arrival. My entire family including my parents, children and grandchildren all voted and they want to come back again next year. I couldn't give a higher recommendation. We will definitely be coming back."

"Opal's cottage was the perfect get-a-way. A lovely view from every room. We particularly enjoyed spending time in the screened-in porch and sitting out on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, and of course walking along the shore. On a couple evenings we talked about heading into town for dinner in drinks, but opted to dine in as the evening show was too good to pass up. The accommodations were comfortable and we had everything we needed. We brought bikes and had a nice ride into Manistee for lunch and a stroll through town. The Big M trail is less than 20 miles away and offers a nice set of trails for mountain biking, trail running and cross country skiing in the winter."

"The condo was a perfect fit for us on our girls golf getaway! The condo is fully equip and very comfortable and feels just like home. I would highly recommend staying here and we will be back in the future. It is conveniently located to all the local golf courses and Short's Brewery."

"I certainly enjoyed my stay at your apartment in Leland. The 1906 house is up to date but full of vintage details and furniture. I especially appreciated the framed information in each room. I always know what I expect in lodging but, especially in a private home, I like to know what is expected of me. Every question I might have had was answered before I could ask.
The location is perfect if you enjoy exploring the town and walking to the beaches to search for Petoskey Stones and Leland Blues. And, of course, it's close to the Bluebird, my most favorite restaurant, where Bob, Cory, Forest & Zack make me feel like a local.
My only hope is that a 5 star review doesn't attract so many other potential renters that I will have trouble booking a stay next year.
Thank you Carolyn for all of your help. You've been a pleasure to work with."
