  • Perfect weekend getaway

"My boyfriend and I stayed at this cabin for a weekend. Everyone on the island was very friendly. We had quick responses and communication with the owner of the cabin. The owner of the rental car company did not have a car available on our day of arrival so she picked us up and took us to our cabin then delivered a car to us. All while giving us a tour of the island. We went out to eat and everyone was so friendly and we found people who were from the same home town as us. The cabin was perfect for the price. They are adding onto the cabin but in no way shape or form did this hinder the feeling of staying in a cabin for us. It was nice to be able to use the indoor toilet tho! The bikes and kayaks were a HUGE plus. We went for a 3 hour bike ride and happen to ride by our neighbors(which we found out after we stopped and asked for directions) who were very friendly and gave us many inside tips on the island. We took the kayaks out for a full day. If you are an adventure person and not just a relax on the beach person then this is the perfect spot. You have to truck through a little muck to get the kayaks to the water but it is worth it! Once you get out to the water it is absolutely beautiful. It was only about 72 degrees the day we were out on the water but the water was so warm! The grill and fireplace were great to cook and relax at the end of the night. The shower is out on the back deck of the cabin, kind of tucked away tho, which was a great experience. I loved showering outdoors and just seeing the beauty of everything around. Overall I have no complaints. If you wanted to get away and be left alone and hang out at the cabin all weekend you could or if you wanted to go out and explore you could. We will defiantly be coming back!"

  • Peace and Quiet!

"My family and I rented this peaceful cottage in July and were delighted upon opening the door to see the cottage exactly as described. It is wonderfully decorated and we felt right at home especially since we could bring our furry family member. Visited Donegal Bay beach, Cable Bay beach and the lighthouse along with the beach at Iron Ore Bay. Our six year old daughter had a blast and hubby loved fishing lake Geneserath. People are so friendly and the area so beautiful we didn't want to come home. I missed waking up and falling asleep to the sound of waves when we returned home! Great place to find some quiet time with family and escape the noise of phones, tvs and computers-Loved it!"

  • Lovely Experience

"Absolutely wonderful stay. We drank coffee (and mimosas!) on the deck looking out over Lake Michigan in the morning, canoed in the afternoon, built a campfire and cooked dinner near the beach in the evening. So much peace to be had here. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the gorgeous property, or our host, Jerry (Cathy was away when we visited, but she was very prompt with replies and, warm and friendly when conversing with me through e-mail). Jerry even let us use their house phone to make dinner reservations when we couldn't get cellular service. There are neighbors, but also a lot of privacy thanks to the trees and layout of the land, location of the deck and of the cottage. Plenty of nearby hiking, and if you need a store or restaurant, the hub of the island is about a 20 minute drive. The cottage is very cozy; if you are not coming alone, I would make sure you really like the person you are coming with! Fortunately I visited with my husband so it worked out ;) We both very highly recommend staying here, and will almost certainly be back. Hopefully sooner than later!"

Beaver Island Travel Tips

Vacationing is Fun With Beaver Island Vacation Rentals

Beaver Island, located on scenic Lake Michigan, is the lake's largest island. It's been called "America's Emerald Island," and offers historical sites that detail early Irish immigration. The island also boasts beautiful landscapes that are reminiscent of Ireland itself. If you're looking for historical sites, however, Beaver Island is also home to an old "Mormon kingdom," where a revised version of the Mormon church (members called themselves the "Strangites") settled a temporary monarchy.

Enjoy Nature's Beauty With Affordable Beaver Island Lodging

Northeast Michigan lake houses will put you on the Beaver Island archipelago with easy access to more than a dozen gorgeous islands, like Garden Island, Hog Island, Gull Island, Shoe Island, and more. When you're vacationing for a day or two, or by yourself, the prices for hotels and rentals may seem comparable but over longer stretches of time or when traveling in large groups, the vacation rental is not only your more luxurious option – it's also more affordable. Your only difficult choice will be choosing between the luxury homes, Northeast Michigan lake houses, and other options when selecting your Beaver Island lodging.

Why Choose Beaver Island Vacation Rentals

You may feel stuck in the routine of staying at hotels for all of your vacations. While hotels have been the classic way of traveling, they are neither the best nor the cheapest option. When it comes to vacationing on Beaver Island, a vacation rental is the obvious choice. With accommodations that offer more privacy and quiet than any hotel, and at a better price, you will find your vacation to be far more peaceful. With amenities like home theater systems, full sized kitchens, king sized beds, and even hot tubs in many of the available rentals, you will find your vacation rental to be a home away from home.
