  • Girls Getaway

"Great house with lots of room and everything we needed plus extras. The lake was wonderful and the weather was great. We definitely would love to come back for a girls getaway. I would also love to bring kids and grand-kids here too! Thanks for a great stay."

  • Perfect!

"I am a little hesitate to write this review, I would like to be selfish and keep this little gem just available for our use :) It really was perfect, perfect, perfect. The location is great, it was very comfortable. Very clean. Amazing sun rises. Perfect beach. We had a little issue, thanks to mother nature with some bugs, but Duane helped us deal with that. Highly recommend and yes we will be back, hopefully soon Chuck and Judy, Grand Rapids MI"

  • Romantic Get Away on Bass Lake

"Cute cottage with all amenities and more. Cottage has nice sandy frontage, fire pit and sleeping up to six (bunk beds/pull out sofa/master). Has a nice big wrap around porch with great view of the lake. We made it up for fall color tour, it is only a 10 minute drive to downtown Traverse City and a short scenic drive to Empire. Being the fall didn't get to use the lake at all, but looks like kayak, boats, fishing, and pontoons all around, would be a great place for family with kids to spend time on the lake in the summer. Dan and Nancy were great and they have done a great job decorating the cottage. We will be back for sure."

  • Quaint & Cozy

"My wife and I were very pleased with the location of the cottage. It is on a small lake, in the country, but not too far to reach the city. Most of the road is hard paved with the last 1/2 mile or so gravel with some dirt, although it is pretty hard pan. The cottage is on a lake next to other cabins, much like a fishing resort. During the week it is extremely quiet with weekenders arriving on Thursday and Fridays. The owners are very friendly and work hard to make sure your stay is welcoming and they succeed. The cottage has most everything you need, comfortable seating, luxurious bedding in the bedroom, and a nice kitchen area. And with lots of windows on the front of the cottage you can open the blinds and take in a beautiful site of Lake Nowland. In addition, if you care to open the windows you'll hear the occasional loon and other birds. It is so relaxing. The cottage is pretty clean when you arrive, however the microwave needed a bit of cleaning but it didn't take too long to get it cleaned up. There is an issue with rust in the water, and it makes getting cleaned up a bit tedious. We quickly found the bedsheets and pillows with rust on them. Soon it became apparent our clothing was stained also. I wouldn't let this deter you from experiencing this remote area, however I would recommend bringing dark clothes. For those of you who aren't from Michigan you are going to meet some fantastic people. Everybody is so friendly. Charlevoix had a concert on Thursday night an earlier in the week they had a movie in the park, next to the marina. This town is truly beautiful and you really do need to experience it if you like resort towns. The food was great when we chose to eat out and there is plenty to do."
