"My wife and I recently stayed in the Hot Shot Lodge for a long weekend in the middle of September. The house was everything we could have asked for and more, and the hosts were unbelievable and left us everything we needed to help us focus on relaxing and enjoying the weekend. The property is a perfect location, with easy access and nice sturdy stairs down to the river overlook and river dock. We had a fire in the fire pit every night with more than enough firewood to sustain hundreds of fires. The house itself was as cozy as could be and we truly felt right at home as soon as we walked in.
Although it was just the two of us and our little Boston Terrier, this place would be also be perfect for a larger group of friends. There was a lot of space, a big back deck overlooking the river and even a screened in party porch with a TV that would be perfect in the middle of summer to play games or cards on buggy nights. I know we are definitely looking to get a group of close friends and come back soon.
This place will not disappoint!!"

Lovely horse-boarding setting. Single cottage. Convenient driving to area sights.
"Owners Debbie and Jeff live on this large site, but do not hover. Very near Suttons Bay. If you enjoy the feeling of having your own reasonably-priced, get-away place, you'll love it here. Wish I could interact with the horses on site, but petting or feeding the horses is discouraged. Sleeping space for six, which includes the main bedroom and a loft. Cooking light meals OK; a larger fridge would be nice. Wrap-around front room couch should be more comfortable. Cable TV and Wi-Fi. Big parking lot, near the cottage. The entire location is beautifully landscaped, and includes a patio area with BBQ."

"We stayed here this summer for a week, and loved it! It was extremely clean, which I noticed right away! The decor was so adorable, I loved the style. There was one private bedroom, and another back room with a sliding door that had a futon that served great as a second bedroom. We were so happy- parking was easy, we were within walking distance to quite a few restaurants/cafes, and even a kayak rental. We drove into Frankfort often, but it was so quick. It was peaceful and quiet, and I would highly recommend this for your next stay :)"

"My boyfriend and i stayed 3 nights while we property shopped. We werent really sure what to expect because the pictures really dont do it justice. The location is perfect---in a quiet, quaint and friendly neighborhood with the Pere Marquette river in front. And talk about clean! Wow! And thats an understatement coming from a clean freak such as myself. No need to take any linens because it is well stocked and smell terrific. The upstairs loft is so comfy with its king bed, lazy boy, tv with satelite, huge dressers, upper door to that walkway and one heck of a view. We actually used the tray provided and had snacks up there before bed one night.the cupboards are stocked with nice clean dishes, pans, crockpot, micro, toaster, coffe maker coffee filters, ect. I would recommend taking spices if you , like to cook though but there is salt and pepper.Gas grill is like new, also. There were even chocolates in a dish, travel size shampoo, conditioner and a nice oatmeal soap! Much, much more than I expected. Also a hair dryer, girls! The couch is nice leather, it might pull out but we didnt look and there are nice fuzzy blankets to snuggle in with which was great because that river is c o l d. Shower and bathroom is very clean--skip the flip flops this trip! I might take a child, but the sleeping quarters are on different floors (if that couch opens). We just took our dog. There are games also. We met the owners the last day who were very nice. Very detail oriented. I say YES! Stay here for a quiet relaxing get away. We did have one regret however... we spent all of our days driving around the state looking for our own get away and werent able to relax, fish, canoe and play there except for about 5 hours. I did do some swimming with the dog while scott fished though and that little bit was great"
