  • Perfect up north retreat!

"Great place! Beautiful view, peaceful and quiet yet close to the quaint downtown Charlevoix. The place is immaculate and super comfortable. The owners are so great to work with and very accommodating! Will stay there again!"

"Our stay in Charlevoix was delightful. Along with fantastic weather we had the opportunity to stay in this lovely cottage in Pine Lakes. The cottage was well-maintained and had many nice extras-new gas grill, patio fronting the lake, fire pit and was nicely furnished. We were able to enjoy the beach, ride our bikes on the quiet roads within the community, enjoy sunsets and all the peace and tranquility the area offered. It was a wonderful way to celebrate with my sister and her husband their 41st wedding anniversary as well as our 46th. We are hoping to have the opportunity to return next year around the same time."

  • Had a beautiful vacation!

"We have rented several lakefront homes/cottages, and this was truly our favorite! The house was clean and comfortable - nice furniture and new carpeting. Plenty of room for us and our 4 kids, but may have been a little crowded with 8 or more if you get a couple days of rain. Two TV's with movies and video games to kept the kids happy in the evenings and on rainy days - we didn't hear "I'm bored" once. The nearby nature trails allowed the older kids freedom to explore and have some time to themselves. The house had everything we needed - beach toys for the younger kids, kitchen utensils and flatware, lawn chairs, and two refrigerators eliminated the need for repeated trips to the store. It's obvious that the owners put a lot of effort into making sure we had everything - right down to the beach towels and the spare LP tank for the grill. The location was perfect - 15 minutes to either Charlevoix or Boyne City, and perfect distance for a day trip to Mackinac Island or Traverse city. The lake is big enough that we didn't hear the constant droning of jet-ski's typical of smaller lakes. If you have one, definitely bring your boat! Shoppers' docks at Charlevoix, and public slips at Boyne City allowed us to do most everything we needed to do from the water, without the need to deal with peak season traffic and parking. Plus so many other things to see and do on the boat - Lake Michigan, Oyster Bay, waterfront dining, sunsets - you can spend the entire week on the water. The neighbors were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. On our day of departure we had to pack up and hurry off ahead of an approaching storm, so we never had a chance to thank them, but they truly made the difference."

  • Quaint & Cozy

"My wife and I were very pleased with the location of the cottage. It is on a small lake, in the country, but not too far to reach the city. Most of the road is hard paved with the last 1/2 mile or so gravel with some dirt, although it is pretty hard pan. The cottage is on a lake next to other cabins, much like a fishing resort. During the week it is extremely quiet with weekenders arriving on Thursday and Fridays. The owners are very friendly and work hard to make sure your stay is welcoming and they succeed. The cottage has most everything you need, comfortable seating, luxurious bedding in the bedroom, and a nice kitchen area. And with lots of windows on the front of the cottage you can open the blinds and take in a beautiful site of Lake Nowland. In addition, if you care to open the windows you'll hear the occasional loon and other birds. It is so relaxing. The cottage is pretty clean when you arrive, however the microwave needed a bit of cleaning but it didn't take too long to get it cleaned up. There is an issue with rust in the water, and it makes getting cleaned up a bit tedious. We quickly found the bedsheets and pillows with rust on them. Soon it became apparent our clothing was stained also. I wouldn't let this deter you from experiencing this remote area, however I would recommend bringing dark clothes. For those of you who aren't from Michigan you are going to meet some fantastic people. Everybody is so friendly. Charlevoix had a concert on Thursday night an earlier in the week they had a movie in the park, next to the marina. This town is truly beautiful and you really do need to experience it if you like resort towns. The food was great when we chose to eat out and there is plenty to do."
