  • Clean, Quiet & Comfortable

"My husband, son, daughter-in-law, grandson and I recently spent a delightful week at Burns Street Cottage. The cottage is just as it appears in the pictures-spacious and clean. The backyard is very pretty with perennials, a picnic table, and a nice fire pit. The owner was prompt in answering our queries, available if needed, and also prompt in returning our damage deposit. The cottage is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of both downtown and Depot Beach on Lake Charlevoix. We also drove about 2 miles to the McSauba recreation area where there are nature trails, dunes and a beach on Lake Michigan (no lifeguard, lightly populated). It’s also easy to bicycle to the Little Traverse Wheelway trail which runs between Charlevoix and Harbor Springs. My husband and I biked to and from Petoskey one day – 36 miles in all on an awesome trail. Among its offerings, we enjoyed Charlevoix’s wonderful library, interesting “mushroom houses”, good restaurants, and friendly people. We can definitely recommend both visiting the town and staying at this cottage."

  • Relaxing fall weekend away.

"My husband and I had a wonderful three night stay in this cabin this fall, (2014). It is close to Lake Michigan - in fact if you stay in the bedroom facing the lake, and don't close the blinds, that is what you wake up to in the morning - a view of Lake Michigan! We brought our lab, Cecelia, and she loved it. We went for walks down the beach with her several times. Though the cabin is old, it is nicely kept, and has everything you need. In the evenings, my husband and I would sit out on the screened porch and watch the sunset while Celia nosed around in the little plot of trees near the cabin, and in the sand. As most of us Michiganders know…there is no place like Lake Michigan! We only used the main floor of the cabin but there is also a large area upstairs with beds. This would be a fun cabin for a family vacation as well. And you're not far from Charlevoix or Petoskey here. We came here to relax so we were not looking for activities in town, but we know if we'd wanted to eat out or go to different events, that they were available to us. We came here for the view and time away together. The view was fantastic and the time away was peaceful and fun."

  • Awesome House on Lake Michigan

"The pictures do not do this place justice! The rooms are huge, the deck is amazing and the views are fantastic. We spent every night sitting outside watching the sun set. It was also really cool to have access to the kayaks. We paddled out a ways and took in the crystal clear Lake Michigan water. We are looking forward to coming back!"

  • Adult Weekend Away

"This is a great home for large groups to enjoy. We went with four other couples and had plenty of room and kitchen supplies. The kitchen had two of everything, as did the laundry room. The beach is a short walk from the house with minimal stairs. The homeowner was wonderful to work with and accomodated us by opening the home a week early. The location is nice. We went to the Fisherman's Island State Park and hiked a nice and moderately challenging trail. It is close to Cheboygan and Traverse City. The sunset was amazing with a huge orange sun. It is on Grand Traverse Bay and close to Torch Lake, providing many options for outdoor fun."
