  • Exactly what we hoped for

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Clinton Cottage. The location to both town and the beach is ideal. Its close enough to walk to town yet far enough away from the main traffic routes to provide a nice quiet get away. The cottage itself is very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed our leisurely mornings around the kitchen and back deck and our evenings in the front room and porch. Marlene was very helpful and accommodating. We felt at home and relaxed form the moment we arrived."

  • Had a beautiful vacation!

"We have rented several lakefront homes/cottages, and this was truly our favorite! The house was clean and comfortable - nice furniture and new carpeting. Plenty of room for us and our 4 kids, but may have been a little crowded with 8 or more if you get a couple days of rain. Two TV's with movies and video games to kept the kids happy in the evenings and on rainy days - we didn't hear "I'm bored" once. The nearby nature trails allowed the older kids freedom to explore and have some time to themselves. The house had everything we needed - beach toys for the younger kids, kitchen utensils and flatware, lawn chairs, and two refrigerators eliminated the need for repeated trips to the store. It's obvious that the owners put a lot of effort into making sure we had everything - right down to the beach towels and the spare LP tank for the grill. The location was perfect - 15 minutes to either Charlevoix or Boyne City, and perfect distance for a day trip to Mackinac Island or Traverse city. The lake is big enough that we didn't hear the constant droning of jet-ski's typical of smaller lakes. If you have one, definitely bring your boat! Shoppers' docks at Charlevoix, and public slips at Boyne City allowed us to do most everything we needed to do from the water, without the need to deal with peak season traffic and parking. Plus so many other things to see and do on the boat - Lake Michigan, Oyster Bay, waterfront dining, sunsets - you can spend the entire week on the water. The neighbors were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. On our day of departure we had to pack up and hurry off ahead of an approaching storm, so we never had a chance to thank them, but they truly made the difference."

  • Great home, AWESOME location!

"Love the mushroom houses in Charlevoix. Always wanted to stay in one. Finally got my chance. My daughter got married at Castle Farms and this was the perfect spot to visit Harbour Springs, Petosky and see some of Michigan's beautiful fall colors. The home itself had everything you could want in a home for kitchen use, bedrooms, showers, etc. There were 4 of us and we had friends over for dinner and cards and the house was plenty big for entertaining as well. Construction happening behind us interrupted our piece and quiet but we persevered. The basement laundry was not to my liking but it was nice to have a washer/dryer. Charlevoix itself offers great restaurants, shopping and sights. The people were wonderful. Would love to revisit again."

"This home is as advertised. It is beautifully decorated, clean, well maintained and situated right on the water, with easy access to both Charlevoix and Bay Harbor. We even took a day trip to Mackinaw island (which was stunning). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay...using the outdoor fireplaces almost every night. We especially enjoyed our bonfire down by the waters edge. We tried several local resturants and while they were all good, I would highly recommend Esperance (which is just a few short minutes away). The owners were friendly and food was simply outstanding. If you like a nice wine, check out their wine cellar. We did, and walked out highly satisfied. All in all a great week in northern Michigan. It was nice to escape the Texas summer heat."
