  • Lovely Experience

"Absolutely wonderful stay. We drank coffee (and mimosas!) on the deck looking out over Lake Michigan in the morning, canoed in the afternoon, built a campfire and cooked dinner near the beach in the evening. So much peace to be had here. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the gorgeous property, or our host, Jerry (Cathy was away when we visited, but she was very prompt with replies and, warm and friendly when conversing with me through e-mail). Jerry even let us use their house phone to make dinner reservations when we couldn't get cellular service. There are neighbors, but also a lot of privacy thanks to the trees and layout of the land, location of the deck and of the cottage. Plenty of nearby hiking, and if you need a store or restaurant, the hub of the island is about a 20 minute drive. The cottage is very cozy; if you are not coming alone, I would make sure you really like the person you are coming with! Fortunately I visited with my husband so it worked out ;) We both very highly recommend staying here, and will almost certainly be back. Hopefully sooner than later!"

  • Very good family cottage - excellent owners

"I stayed here the week of July 12th - 19th with my family and four + two grandparents, so 6 people total. The cottage is spacious and when we arrived it was clean. There was more than enough room for the six of us. The view of the lake from the kitchen, front sitting area and front porch is beautiful. Both the downstairs and upstairs have quite a bit of room, although the upstairs master bath shower is somewhat small (minor inconvenience). We utilized the large upstairs "common area" quite a bit and it was nice to have the space on the one rainy day. The owner, Paul really stood out. From the time we contacted him regarding booking the cottage he was extremely helpful and communicative. We had the microwave go on the fritz when we were there and he had a brand new one delivered within hours (after telling him it was not urgent and no rush). Thanks Paul for a great week that my family truly enjoyed."

  • Amazing place for a family vacation

"My family and I have stayed here twice. Once in the winter and again in the summer. We've had a great time both occasions. The pictures seriously don't do it justice. The swimming for kids is great because of the sand bar, especially for little ones. The house is very clean with practically everything you need besides groceries. Bellaire is a wonderful town with cute shops and Short's brewery which was a big hit with my husband. We did a few day trips to Charlevoix and to Sleepy Bear Dunes which was perfect with our little ones. The family that owns it has been great to work with. If we did run into anything they were just a phone call away and very helpful. I would recommend this to any family or even a group of friends who are looking for a relaxing week next to a peaceful lake."

  • Great Getaway!!

"My wife and I booked the cabin for my birthday/Valentines Day. We loved the cabin, it was very cozy inside with the fireplace as the temps dropped outside to -24 with 30mph winds. We spent most of the time in and out of the hot tub as it was way too cold to ride our snowmobiles that weekend, I tried a 2 min ride and it was unbearable but the hot tub was nice and toasty! The cabin has everything you need and is set upon a beautiful overlook making the scene in the winter a true wonderland. We did have some struggles making pancakes in the morning, there is in fact a well equipped full kitchen but they need a griddle:) The local area taverns are close as is a family dollar (griddle shopping) and a fully stocked grocery store is just down the road a bit. We ate dinner on Friday at the Alden Bar and was not impressed at all, the second night we stopped into the local tavern Kritters and the food was super and the décor wild! Take the trip up to Rapid City, very quiet and cozy getaway for 2."
