Recent Crystal Lake property reviews

"We traveled two days by plane and car, 2350 miles total, to arrive at Crystal Lake Retreat. We stayed 3 weeks. We didn't want to leave. My review in one word, WONDERFUL! The house fit us, 5 adults 2 children (ages 3 and 5) perfectly. The kitchen and dishwasher got a work out as we cooked every day. Ditto with the washer and dryer, especially with little people. The dinner table, porch, & hot tub served as the center ring for all the laughter and stories with family and friends. What did we do there? Talk, sit, swing, relax, laugh, sing, walk, hike, run, eat, drink, swim, rock hunt, boat, ski, tube, canoe, lake & sky watch, hot tub, play cards, take pictures, ride bikes, picnic, fish, bonfire. (TV's in every room, not required!) We appreciated the extras provided: linens, towels, paper goods, soap, crock pot, BBQ, & life jackets. Jean was a dream to work with over email and phone. She was both kind and prompt answering our many questions and concerns. The house was super clean, organized, and decorated with great cottage/lake style. Location was fantastic for us to host our "Pure Michigan" visit. We loved the view, the trees, the breeze (no bugs!) the dock, the space. The shared waterfront and boat hoist was great. Our city kids loved playing "woods", content with sticks and a piece of rope on too-cool-to-swim days. The lake water was something to rave about. It is as clear as the name--Crystal! The towns of Frankfort, Beulah, Benzonia, & Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, were close for food shopping and adventures. We visited the local farmer markets too. Looking back, I'm feeling your place was a lovely treasure found. Too good to be true?! Truly, it was a very special time for our family and friends. Thank you, Jean and Alan, for helping us make some memories to keep always."

  • Charming Cottage!

"We have rented this cottage for a week in the summer 2 years in a row, and planning a 3rd.., we have enjoyed our stays at Migdale! It is a very charming cottage, located just off of 115 near Frankfort. The area is quiet, and the water is calm. Perfect for our family with 2 young children. We enjoy the bike trails that are around the corner, and the privacy this cottage offers. It is very well equipped with everything you might need in the kitchen. If you are familiar with the area it is conveniently located to take day trips to Leland, Glen Arbor, and more.."

  • We Love Crystal Lake :)!!!

"This cottage is GREAT! Comfortably fit 10 of us - 5 teenagers included! The kids hung out downstairs and we had the whole upstairs to ourselves - including a great balcony with outstanding view of the lake. The kids loved the kayaks, swimming, snorkling. Has all the amenities you could possibly ask for and then some! The weather was great during our stay and we did so many fun things ... golf, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Frankfort pier, stroll down Main Street, Point Betsie for sunsets and a swim in Lake Michigan, drove up and down all the hilly back roads. Lots of wildlife to see - including an eagle! The water was fantastic - and the lake is so large that you never feel crowded. We also went to the Outlet where the water is so shallow and warm. There is a great bike/walk trail from the Outlet to downtown Beulah that follows the lake where the old railroad was. Lots of history here. Can't wait to go back!!!"

  • Fun Family Vacation

"We had such a great time on Crystal Lake. Our group stayed here in July and really had a great time. The beach and water were pristine. We rented both properties, which was perfect for a larger group. Evenings were spent watching the kids put on plays on the beach and sitting around the beautiful stone fire pit roasting smores. Daytime was spent relaxing in the sun, swimming, tubing down the nearby Platt River, and visiting the Sand Dunes. This was the perfect spot for a relaxing family vacation. Thank you!"
