  • Farwell Log Cabin

"My husband and I, along with our 2 kids (ages 8 and 4 months) and in-laws stayed at the log cabin this past weekend. We were actually celebrating my husband's birthday and had brought our quads up to ride on the trails. Upon arrival, the cabin was beautiful and the interior was nice and well stocked--towels, shampoo/conditioner, condiments, cooking utensils, etc. We actually only brought ourselves, towels for the pool, and accessories for the baby. It was especially nice to have access to a washer and dryer (with detergent available). My daughter especially enjoyed the pool table, table hockey, abundance of movies, and games. Although we did not see any wildlife (despite putting out apples), we were able to enjoy the fire pit and dry wood available. The biggest downfall of the cabin that we found was the bed in the loft area (it was "well used" and my husband kept rolling towards the edge of the bed due to the wear in the mattress). Other than that, I was a little disappointed in the fact that our 4 month old was counted as "a guest" in the charge and that the trails were not as close (they were 30 minutes away).....the only recommendation that I have is to provide a safety gate that could easily be used to block the downstairs stairway as it was close to the bathroom/bedroom doors and could easily become hazardous for guests in the middle of the night. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the log cabin in Farwell!"

  • Family get-away

"Our large family of 13 spent a fabulous week in this charming home. The combination of rustic wooden beams, wood and stone added to the character and beauty of this home. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax, spread out and enjoy ourselves. The beach was by far our favorite place! We spent hours enjoying the lake, digging in the sand, flying kites and relaxing. When we weren't at the lake we spent time sightseeing and traveling to the lighthouse, farmers markets, and sand dunes. Great vacation spot!"

  • Perfect Family Vacation Spot

"First let me say that Dean and Melissa made planning our rental a breeze. So organized and we knew just what to expect when we got there. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and it was lovely. Plenty of kitchen seating. Our family included three generations. The grandkids played in the water all day. It's sandy and they could jump off the raft and dock. We had fires every night, we put together puzzles when it rained and took bike rides into town. There are golf courses nearby and the little ones enjoyed fishing with Grandpa. The older kids took their jeep to a local off road track. Thanks Dean and Melissa, we had a great summer vacation!"

  • Enjoyable stay with family

"We enjoyed our stay in the condo. The pictures are accurate. Our only complaint is that the appliances are really out-dated....at least 20 years old, perhaps more. The dryer took 2-3 hours to dry a load of laundry. When we mentioned it to the owner she said that she knew that. One of our main reasons for staying in a home vs a hotel is that I can do laundry and cook for 6 people....pretty hard to do without good appliances."
