"Centrally located and walking distance to everything. Ken, the owner, beyond accomodating and laid back, great guy. Would not hesitate to recommend anyone for this property. Already booked again for vacation next year."

  • Great Value

"The cottage was perfectly suited for my needs. The weather was cool, mostly in the 40's however, the heater keep it cozy inside. I especially loved the wonderful natural wood burning fireplace. The owner and manager were both very informative and helpful. The cottage has a nice feeling of being away from the bustle of the big city get close enough to get all the things you need conveniently."

  • Modern cottage on a quiet lake-Great place to unwind and watch the water & relax.

"This cottage had all the conveniences of home internet service, A/C for summer and a great automatic gas fireplace in the family room. It has a unique stairway (firemen pole with wood steps winding to the 2nd floor sleeping loft). We slept up there and it had windows high on the cottage looking into the branches of the tree and some great views too. We only stayed 2 nights Sat & Sun and seen nobody on the lake. Only a cat peered in the sliding glass window at us and ran away, then a chipmunk looking for food by the water. The fall foliage on the other side of the road was very pretty. The weather was great 50's and sunny daytime and 30's at night for Michigan in mid October. There is a bedroom on the 1st floor for those that can't do stairs. Thanks to the owners for sharing their cottage, it is a great place kick off your shoes soak in the scenery."

  • Up North Meets "Urban" Fun

"As two couples traveling together without our kids, this townhouse really appealed to us. Physically, it's very nice. What we also loved its location in downtown Charlevoix, within footsteps of restaurants and "nightlife." We loved the Tap Room next door (great acoustic guitar on Sunday night) for craft beers and casual dinner, or Quay across the street for a more refined dinner (try the mushroom salad and the whitefish provencal--both incredible!), or the bakery right across the street for home-baked goods and good coffee in the morning. The townhouse itself has a nice big deck and gas grill for dinner at home. In addition to Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix, Charlevoix itself is close to lots of great lakes for boaters (Torch Lake is a must--it's beautiful!), and less than an hour from Traverse City/Old Mission Peninsula wine country. Two golf courses very close by; Charlevoix more moderate while Belvedere challenging. We managed to do all of it in a week. Because you're so close to shops and restaurants, there's a good buzz of activity all around, loading and shipping happening in the back parking lot, etc. (This does not mar the gorgeous view from the deck.) If you're looking for absence of activity on a deserted lake, look elsewhere. If you like the feeling of being "downtown" (as downtown as Charlevoix can be for a town of less than 3,000 people) while also being immersed in the wonderful Up North culture with beautiful views and high-end accommodations, I would recommend. We hope to return next year!"
