"This is the second time we've stayed in this cottage at Sutton's Bay. Both times we have absolutely loved every second of our stay. The cottage is immaculate and exactly as described. The private beach is lovely - a nice, quiet, sandy beach area protected even on the windy days. The Leelanau peninsula has lots to offer - quaint shops, yummy restaurants and gorgeous places to explore. The cottage is an easy drive to Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse in Northport - there's no shortage of things to do! We will be returning again!"

"Two Gal Friends enjoying our Northern Michigan and all it has to offer was made so much nicer staying at this easy to find, great location, darling as could be and so cozy Strawberry Hill. Loved my sweet twin bed! Cindy, the owner, was a great welcomer along with great suggestions of fine places to eat. The pictures are a true representation of the place...but it is actually nicer than they show. Not saying it would not be an awesome romantic getaway. You would just have to manage the two twin bed scene."

"This was our first time to the area and really didn't know what to expect. You should have seen the list of different properties I considered for our family. Ultimately, this location seemed the most appropriate for the price. We LOVED the house, loved the location, he dock and swimming in the lake right out the front door was amazing. We also rode our bikes to the Lake Michigan beach just 5 miles away. Not the fault of the owners, but the weather was unseasonably cold. We longed for some heavier blankets. We made due. We did have a small incident with an uncooperative smoke alarm that kept going off in the middle of the night. But we figured it out the next day with the handle of the broom. One other comment would be that we couldn't find a dust pan anywhere which made it tough to keep he floors (which are beautiful) well swept. There was a rowboat/canoe on the premises, but it wasn't clear if that was available for our use. We hope to return next year. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!!!!"

"This was just right for our Labor Day family getaway "Up North" with six adults and two children ages 3 and 4. The house was spacious enough that we never felt like we were on top of each other, and I think that has a lot to do with the remodeling that the owner must have recently done -- I loved the separate dining space off the entrance, and the upper level is just stunning. There was a desk for those who needed to get some work done (unfortunately!). Our little ones loved the small bedroom off the upstairs, and the adjacent den was a great spot for them to watch movies and play yet still be close enough that the adults could hear all was well. The lake is "across the street," but we're talking about 15 steps and you're there. The kitchen is VERY well-equipped -- plenty of dishes and glasses for everyone without having to run the dishwasher constantly. The old stove worked SO great! One burner seemed a little less hot but hey, that's part of the charm. Everything was in working order, and the house is even nicer than the photos make it seem. The porch swing, or "swing chair" as my 3 year old called it, was a HUGE hit with the kids and adults. And the small fire pit/ring in the front yard was JUST perfect for s'mores after dinner. Like others have said in reviews, the location is grand as well -- away from the high prices of Traverse City but close enough that you can go to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsulas, etc., and not feel like you've been in the car the whole trip. There are two large, well-stocked grocery stores only a couple miles away, which made making meals at home convenient and easy. The only *slight* negative was the size of the bedrooms on the lower level, especially the one that uses the bathroom in the hallway, but after one night, we felt like it was just part of the cozy charm. We would stay again in a heartbeat."
