  • Fabulous 50th

"The house was very clean and inviting upon arrival. It was fully stocked to allow a large group to function with ease and comfort...plenty of linens, kitchenware, DVDs, and indoor seating. Having two ovens, fridges, dishwashers, washers, etc. was great! Plenty of room for a large group to function inside and out. The beach was wonderful and so was the view from the house and the roomy deck...and plenty of petoskeys to be found! NOTE: You may want to consider bringing beach chairs if you have a large group, and water shoes were a big plus when walking over the rocky sections in the lake. We created many memories to cherish during our week long stay. A beautiful home in a spectacular spot...Overall, a fabulous place to celebrate our parents' 50th anniversary! Thanks, Denise and team!"

  • Wonderful family vacation home!

"We have finally found the perfect vacation home. After renting lovely homes on VRBO.com for the last six years, this is the first home we're planning a return trip. We're booked for next year. The home is spacious and well laid out. The first floor has a beautiful kitchen, dining area and great room. The first floor bedroom was perfect for my parents. Upstairs, the other four bedrooms were perfect for two couples and plenty of kids. Outside the deck, fire pit and beach are all within a few feet of each other, making them perfect for everyone to do their own thing, while still interacting with the entire family. Lake Bellaire is beautiful. We brought our boat and spent hours waterskiing and tubing. (the water is very shallow, so some boats may have difficulty navigating to the dock.) And all the kids had a ball playing on the paddleboat, canoe and kayak. The home is clean and the property is wooded and very private. You can't see any neighboring homes. Just a couple days into our vacation this year, we emailed the owner and booked our vacation for next year. 2014 can't come soon enough! Thanks again, Melissa!"

  • Wonderful Neighborhood, Friendly Beach, Amenities of Home!

"Having visited the Leelanau Peninsula many times in my childhood, I chose it to celebrate my 50th birthday with family! The house was ideal for me and my husband, our two kids and significant others and our moms. Their is plenty of living space to spread out and just hang out, yet still have privacy. My husband and I enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs bedroom which also is how you walk out to the beach. The deck is amazing and one night we did see two does with their little ones. The beach was a little smaller than what I imagined, but was still wonderful to walk each night and spend the day playing in the water. We found a turtle as well as a couple of petoskey stones. We rented Kayaks and bikes from body balance in Suttons Bay. Kayaks were perfect at this location and we used them regularly. The fire pit was also used regularly as all necessities are right there! If you have someone elderly or with trouble walking though, the path to the beach is a little difficult. We found it easier for my mom to use the public walk way which borders the property. The kitchen was amazing and we found everything you could possibly need to make a delightful meal! All sorts of pots and pans, a griddle, coffee maker, plates, we never ran out of anything! All in all I loved the place and would highly recommend it! The subdivision this home is located in is truly amazing and friendly. If I could, I would move there!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Home

"We have rented from Jeff & Carrie for 12 going on 13 years, for 2 weeks each summer, which pretty much says it all. However, all of the photos and the video that you see here accurately represent this home's absolutely pristine condition. Each year there is something new that has been done to update the cottage and/or to make it more convenient and comfortable. You simply will not find better, more attentive rental owners, or nicer people, than Jeff & Carrie. They truly want your vacation experience in their home to be impeccable. Cathead Bay is a place to take yourself off of "the grid" and get away from it all. Though there is a television, we choose not to turn it on. We walk, swim, kayak, hike, bike, read, play games, and totally get away from all of the distractions of daily life. Over the years we have seen many types of wildlife, especially birds, including blue herons and eagles. We have been vacationing here for over 20 years in total, since our children were very small. It continues to call us back each summer, and we find that our two weeks go by way too fast. One of our favorite restaurants is Riverside Inn, in Leeland. We have rarely had a meal that was less than wonderful there, and the food is upscale. For burgers, Knot Just A Bar in Omena is great. There are any number of vineyards on the Peninsula for wine tasting, little shops in Northport, Sutton's Bay, Omena and Leeland are great for shopping and browsing, and art galleries are always interesting. Stop in Joppich's Bay Street Gallery in Northport to see what is showing this year. If you want to get away from it all, but still have the comforts of home, this is the place to do it."
