  • Perfect location, impecabbly maintained, gorgeous views, and comfort with all the amenities.

"My husband and I visited Glenbear cottage with our 12 and 5 year-old sons and had a wonderful experience. The property is even better in person than the pictures show. The wooded area and gorgeous pine trees provide peace and privacy with the serenity of Glen Lake, yet you are a short drive from shops, restaurants, bicycling, Lake Michigan and, of course, the Dunes. The interior of the home is VERY clean, with newer, comfortable furnishings. It's a perfect mix of a cabin feel with modern furnishings and amenities. We grilled out, roasted marshmallows, cooked breakfast and enjoyed the deck, beach and dock areas. Our five-year-old loved playing in the sand on the beach. The beds were comfortable and the two bathrooms made it very convenient for our family of four. My husband and I loved hanging out in the sunroom while the boys played outside or in the living room. Since we were new to the area, the info and recommendations the owners provided made our stay more enjoyable (especially the tucked-away breakfast joint). We rented a boat a couple of days and enjoyed the Caribbean-like waters of Glen Lake. We also rented bikes and cycled through the beautiful forest to the Dunes and back to Glen Arbor. Our family really looks forward to our summer vacations and we are very picky about the accommodations we choose. Glenbear cottage met all of our expectations and then some. I cannot rave enough about this property and the area itself. The owners are responsive and extremely helpful. Their pride of ownership and attention to detail made our stay delightful. We will most certainly be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We have great memories."

  • Really nice family compound

"My whole extended family went up to Michigan earlier this summer for the first family trip in years. This was a very big deal. There are some members of the family with very "specific" demands and needs (read;high maintenance). As the leader of this fine group, I was tasked with finding accommodations that would be suitable for all of us. Our group included 2 families with kids ages 5-13, 2 grandparents, another young family with a 3 month old and a hipster bachelor! No easy task! However, this property fit the bill perfectly. Thomas and Pat were super easy to work with, answering all of my ridiculous questions. They were just finishing the opening of the property when we got there, so we ended up with a super tour. The original older house was perfect for the grands and the younger family. The kitchen was very nicely outfitted with everything we needed. One of my biggest pet peeves when renting is never having enough serving bowls.....this place had more than enough! The main bedroom/bathroom was swanky enough for those who like swanky. We ended up eating breakfast and dinner in that house every day. The other house is more of a typical rental-type house; open kitchen that is not quite as nice as the other, but certainly sufficient, 2 bedrooms on the smaller side but with excellent bedding and pillows, and a loft full of beds for the kids to sort out. The rec room provided a nice respite for anyone who may not want be in the thick of it with several bed options, as well. The location was also terrific. It is very close to town, nice bike ride or pretty determined walk (we drove, but it took about 5 minutes). The beach is fabulous, no algae or water plants at all, no rocks, nice and shallow for plenty of kid fun! We used the kayaks a lot, rented several SUP's, of course had a boat and tube, used the fire pit, etc. There are also beautiful planters that are self watering all around the houses and decking, a very nice touch that puts this place a notch above the rest. As an added bonus, the owners even leave directions out of the area-which saved us from massive confusion trying to reverse our inbound directions. My only complaint was the mosquitos and the temperature being a bit bracing. Bring your parkas and bug spray and stay here."

  • Beautiful beach and centrally located

"We stayed here in July of this year (with 2 little ones) and the setting was really breathtaking. The condo was clean and the owners were welcoming, helpful and responsive. Beach was a few steps away from condo. In mornings we were greeted by deer right outside door. Because water was a little cold this summer, we took advantage of all of the wonderful sights and things to do within 15 minutes of Glen Arbor - wineries, the Dunes, Leland fishing village, the Manitou Islands... Truly a great family vacation. Will definitely come back."

  • Wonderful Experience

"My extended family, a total of 9, fit here comfortably. The description is very accurate and the house is clean and well-maintained. Would recommend this property to others. The only issue we faced was that the weather was very humid while we were there and without any AC, the house felt a little damp."
