  • Lake Michigan gem with gorgeous views

"We have been going to the Homestead since the mid-1980’s and have rented many different condos in various locations. The fact that we have rented this condo four times says it all. It is perfect. The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the breathtaking view of Lake Michigan through the wall of windows in the living and dining rooms. Then you notice how beautifully but comfortably the rooms are decorated. You feel as if you are in someone’s home. The kitchen is fully equipped and lacks for nothing. Everything is immaculate, clean and in good repair, including the washer and dryer. The owners really take pride in the appearance and condition of the condo. Clearly they want their guests to have a pleasant experience and they do whatever they can to ensure that. As lovely as the condo is, there is so much to do in the area that one does not spend much time there in the summer. The gorgeous white sand beach and Lake Michigan (no salt, no sharks) are perhaps 100 feet from the condo. The town of Glen Arbor is a short drive or a 15 minute walk. There one finds shops, restaurants, a grocery and hardware store, bike and kayak rental outfits and 4 well maintained public tennis courts. Two of our favorite activities are first, a leisurely float down the Crystal River in a kayak and second, a 15 mile ride on the new bike path that runs through the sand dunes and forests almost to the town of Empire. There is also lots to explore on the Leelanau Peninsula as well as in Traverse City, a 45 minute drive away. If you come to the Glen Arbor area you will no doubt have a wonderful time but if you stay in this gem of a condo it will be special."

  • GREAT FAMILY VACATION

"We as grandparents were fulfilling our duty to find the perfect location to entertain our 5 and 10 year old grandsons and somewhat selfishly ourselves. We did as much homework as possible and determined the Glen Arbor/Glen Lake area in Northern Michigan fit the bill. We found Kamp Kendall property and hoped for the best. We were not disappointed. Our week on glen Lake was perfect. Our hosts were most helpful in providing us with local knowledge and the property was as advertised. The lakeside location was perfect an d the amenities mentioned on VRBO were awaiting our use. Kayak, canoe, off shore trampoline, and sandy beach are ready when needed. The fire pit, Weber grill and picnic table, made outside dining a joy. Within a few minutes from the property is the village of Glen Arbor, the Sleeping Bear Dunes park, Lake Michigan and many other destinations on Leelenau peninsula. We hope to make this our annual destination in the upcoming years."

  • Home is fantastic, but lake has swimmers itch

"This Glen Lake home is fantastic. There is plenty of space with nicely kept lawns and a tennis court in the rear. Perfectly located close to Glen Arbor, yet spacious enough for the kids to camp in the yard if they wish. It looks west on to the Sleeping Bear Dune climb with sunsets just behind that. Glen Lake and the surrounding area was named Most Beautiful Place in America by ABC's Good Morning America, which is not hyperbole. All fantastic. However..... Glen Lake has swimmers itch. For a family that loves to swim and sail and water ski, this was brutal. You can buy some protective lotion, but it is tough to tell a kid to lotion up every time they want to step in the water. If you want to relax and enjoy northwestern Michigan, this place is the promised land. If you want to enjoy the lake, you may want to find a place on Lake Michigan (no swimmers itch)."

  • Fall Getaway

"My husband and I stayed at the VerSluis cottage for our 25th wedding anniversary at the end of September. Beautiful area in the fall. The cottage was very clean and accommodating. We also had the opportunity to meet Robin and her family over the weekend, they were great hosts. We travel with our black lab Mollie so it was wonderful that the back cottage allows dogs. Very quaint cottages and we would recommend this rental to anyone wanting to stay in the beautiful Glen Lake area."
