  • Simply Charming

"The cabin was clean, charming and nicely decorated. It was the perfect size for 4 of us, but definitely would accomodate 6. It's a quick walk to the beach. I didn't count steps, but seeing other properties with the endless staircases made me appreciate our easy walk to the beach. The beach is a combination of sand and rocks, but there is plenty of sandy beach on the stretch. My kids (11& 14) chose to make a game of standing on the giant rocks and jumping off. This was our first time in northern Michigan. The view and water were breathtaking. We spotted an eagle every evening around 5pm looking for his evening meal. The house is located close to the Good Hart General Store, which is perfect for simple items. The draw for the store is that it's the only place for miles around for food. It's on M119 (tunnel of trees), which makes it a perfect stop for those doing the scenic tour up Lake Michigan. A few adorable shops and a delicious Crepes stand make it the perfect place to get a snack or even an "on the go" meal. Oh, and the pies at Good Hart…both sweet and savory. Worth it. It was close enough to do a day trip to Harbor Springs or Mackinaw. Back to the house: The owners were very helpful in answering my questions and letting us know what to expect and what we might need to bring. They really had everything there that we needed to enjoy our stay. The dishwasher was a nice bonus as well. :-) We were able to get cell phone reception, but it truly was about "checking out" for awhile. No wifi or television. The kids brought DVD's to watch when they needed some down time or the weather was bad. We had a great time."

  • Restful Relaxing Week at Cozy Cabin Marge and Darrell

"We fell in love with the place, it was so easy. Everything we needed or wanted was here if not, the Good Hart Store had it. The view of Lake Michigan was outstanding with the sunsets and the moon at night. Don't forget your camera. We enjoyed shopping in Harbor Springs and nearby Antique stores, also a day on Mackinac Island. We were sad when we had to leave. Marge and Darrell"

  • Perfect Beach House for a Getaway!

"What a great beach house! Very comfortable & well furnished & absolutely breath-taking views of Lake Michigan. This is the best place to take walks on the beach, view beautiful sunsets & star watch. It is located close to Mackinaw Island, Harbor Springs, Petoskey and it's also close enough to take a day trip to many beautiful places in the Upper Peninsula. We will stay here again!"

Good Hart Travel Tips

Head North to a Beautiful Good Hart Vacation Rental

Are you sick of the same old vacation spots, crawling with tourists and cheesy gift shops? Then Good Hart, Michigan is for you. This tiny town steeped in Native American history and culture is a quiet getaway that may be just what the doctor ordered. With plenty of beaches and parks, and a refreshing lack of commercialism, Good Hart is truly a unique getaway.

Live Like a Local in Your Very Own Vacation Home

One thing's for sure, if you're looking for a break from overdeveloped cityscape, the last thing you want is to stay in another corporately funded hotel. Hotels are cramped, uncomfortable, and completely forgettable. There's plenty of Good Hart lodging available so you don't have to resort to a hotel. Stay in one of the many Northwest Michigan lake houses available, and you'll enjoy a home with a personal touch, not to mention multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, a full-size kitchen, garage, and in some cases a backyard with a clear view of a gorgeous lake.

A Rejuvenating, Small Town Getaway

What makes Good Hart such a fantastic vacation getaway is a refreshing lake of commercialization. The downtown area only has three businesses, which makes Good Hart a truly unique location. One of these three businesses is the Good Hart General Store, which is a post office, deli, bakery, real estate office, and general grocer. History buffs will definitely appreciate a visit to the St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Middle Village, an area rich in Native American tradition, culture, and history. Middle Village is also home to one of Northwest Michigan's most beautiful beaches.
