  • A Dream Vacation for Our Family of Four

"There's is no other place my family wishes to stay for a week-long vacation. Our children, both under five, love the stunning sunsets, playing on the beach in a few steps, and dining outside. We have vacationed here on several occasions. It is well worth our seven-hour drive from Chicago. The home feels secluded in a beautiful patch of trees on Lake Michigan. Inside, the rustic meets contemporary. The classic A-frame has a beautiful fireplace and boasts modern kitchen appliances. I love all the little things that come in use with the home as well, such as a barbecue, bountiful kitchen gadgets, and both a formal and informal dining area. The two bedrooms on the third floor, which have expanded, are more than perfect for my children. All the beds are quite comfortable and the bathrooms are very suitable for children while being luxurious for parents. In regards to seeing the sights, this home is in a perfect location. Good Hart and Cross Village are a short drive north on the impeccable M-119. Harbor Springs is a mere seven miles south. We love visiting Turkey's for pizza and I'm sure once my children are older, we will ski at one of the nearby resorts. If you are looking for a family-friendly place to spark new memories, you have found the right place. We feel this home would also be perfect for a romantic getaway from the big city. Either way, be prepared to slow down and enjoy Lake Michigan."

  • Vacationn in Michigan

"The house was very spacious and had plenty of room for a group of 7 couples to get together and have a good time. The patio was great with 3 tables with chairs. The house was located in a central location where we had plenty of activities to keep us busy. The house is set in a wooded area and houses were not close together. I spoke with and e-mailed with the owner several times and felt like I had known her for a long time. Very friendly and easy to work with."

  • Definitely Retreat-worthy!

"This was the first time our group of 15 women have rented a whole house vs. condo units for our annual Girls-Getaway. We have all given this a unanimous thumbs-up after spending a wonderful 4 days here. The bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, deck and entertaining areas were spacious and comfortable. We went out for dinner one night, but otherwise did all of our cooking in the house. There are 2 refrigerators (1 also in the garage) and the kitchen was well-stocked with supplies; we also found many spices and some baking supplies available. There are 6 lawn chairs at the fire pit, so you may want to bring extras; deck seating space was adequate for all of us. The combination of woods and golf course was beautiful and a nice place to go for a walk. Plenty of activities in the area, but we enjoyed just spending time together in a peaceful setting. We felt we could have had a few more washcloths, dishtowels and toilet paper, but I still gave this a 5-star rating. There is a washing machine and dryer available though for keeping up on laundry needs. The caretaker, Jim, was very responsive to our questions and requests. A memorable time was had by all!"

  • Marilyn Boucher and family

"This is a very good value vacation destination because the property owners do not provide bed linens, bath, kitchen or beach towels, and provide no laundry! Therefore, the rental is about half the going rate! Wow. The chalet is comfortable, good beds, efficient kitchen, shaded, proximate to ski hills, state park beach, fancy shoppin! We inhabit the area every summer due to relatives owning property across the road. The only thing lacking here and most other cottage properties is an allowance for well-trained dogs and their responsible masters. I give Northern Enclosure a 4+!!!!"
