  • Great secluded getaway!

"I spent four days at this chalet in the woods near Cross Village. It is a wonderful, tastefully decorated place with a complete kitchen. The weather was a bit cold and windy but I was very comfortable in the cabin. A soft easy chair made for a fine place to read, listen to music, and write in my journal. I had one Polish dinner at Legs Inn and enjoyed a couple of delicious pot pies from Good Hart General Store. One lovely, hilly hike on the North Country Trail in Wilderness State Park was a good way to enjoy the fall colors. But returning back to this special A-frame was always special. I hope to return for another visit. This would be a great escape for couples or a solo like me."

  • CONVENIENT, COZY AND CHARMING

"Because our family loves Petoskey and the surrounding region so much, we’ve vacationed in that area many times. We’ve stayed in hotels, B&Bs, and a variety of different condos, but "Lakeview" was the first house we've rented. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Once you have unpacked, it feels more like you are at home than in a rental unit. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood right in Petoskey. It’s an easy walk from this charming home down to Petoskey’s historic Gaslight District, and the views of Little Traverse Bay from the house are pretty hard to beat. Our stay at "Lakeview" was easily one of our most enjoyable vacations in the Little Traverse Bay area."

  • Wonderful stay at Green Woods!!

"We recently stayed at Green Woods (party of 7 - two families) and had a great experience! The house is very comfortable - very clean, very organized, and had everything we needed. The beds were also very comfortable, which is key to enjoying a stay anywhere. The house is air conditioned with dual controls (separate temperature controls for downstairs and upstairs), which turned out to be a huge plus one of the days of our stay as it was hot and humid. We were able to cool off the upstairs to a good sleeping temperature and everyone was very happy. We cooked all our meals at the house except for one lunch and one dinner; they even had a nice charcoal grill that we used a few nights for dinner. We went shopping for local produce at the Farmer's Market in Empire on Saturday morning and made grilled corn on the cob - yum! This is the second year we've spent a week in Empire and we really love the area - the public beach park in town has a terrific playground for kids of all ages (ours were 5 to 15) and it's easy driving to Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, Frankfort, and Traverse City (all the places we visited this trip). Renting a place like Green Woods is the best way to enjoy a family vacation at your own pace without breaking the bank. We will likely be back for future stays!!"

  • Speechless

"My only issue is that because I am a bigeer guy I found the toilet a little tricky. Other than that the best getaway yet. Awesome."
