  • Fabulous vacation

"This is the third time we have stayed at this property, and again, it did not disappoint. There were some issues getting the keys in the mail (not anyone's fault, just issues with the post office, it seems!), but the owner and the maintenance man at the house were excellent to work with, and they got us a key. The house is huge, with everything we needed, including plenty of bedroom space for the four adults on our trip. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed for breakfasts, which were the only meals we ate at the house. The house has a new Keurig, which was an excellent addition for the coffee drinkers in our group. The beds were so comfy, and it was fabulous to sleep with the windows open and smell the fresh air and hear the water from a stream that runs in the back of the property. We loved the woodsy atmosphere of the house, and loved taking walks in the quiet neighborhood in the mornings. We loved the game room, and had fun playing foosball, air hockey and ping pong late at night. We took day trips to Mackinac Island and the Upper Penninsula which were both excellent. We loved eating at some of our favorite restaurants, including The Side Door Saloon, Mim's for gyros, La Señorita, Turkey's, and our most favorite of every trip--Pond Hill Farm where we had lunch one day and went to a pig roast one night. Pond Hill Farm has amazing farm to table meals, a squash launcher, a trout pond, u-pick raspberries, as well as a new ice cream parlor. Of course, the wine and beer there is great, too! We did not use the jacuzzi at all this time around because we were so busy exploring the area. We did love the fire pit at night and had fun making s'mores and sitting around the fire. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family if they are traveling to northern Michigan. We cannot wait to come back and stay here in October!"

  • Great secluded getaway!

"I spent four days at this chalet in the woods near Cross Village. It is a wonderful, tastefully decorated place with a complete kitchen. The weather was a bit cold and windy but I was very comfortable in the cabin. A soft easy chair made for a fine place to read, listen to music, and write in my journal. I had one Polish dinner at Legs Inn and enjoyed a couple of delicious pot pies from Good Hart General Store. One lovely, hilly hike on the North Country Trail in Wilderness State Park was a good way to enjoy the fall colors. But returning back to this special A-frame was always special. I hope to return for another visit. This would be a great escape for couples or a solo like me."

  • A perfect getaway in a charming town

"Our stay was fantastic! Sutton's Bay is a nice change of pace from the bustling, often busy downtown Traverse City. My fiance, mother and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a great time. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were very accommodating. They were the sweetest elderly pair that wanted us to know about everything we could do in the area. They also own a bed and breakfast next to the cottage in this listing that I would be interested in staying at as well. The food one of the owners was cooking for breakfast smelled amazing. We had asked for linens to be provided and we had so many! There was also a ton of extra blankets as this area can get cool at night in the summer. We also had a couple of special requests as we were in the area for a short time - we asked if we could book the cottage for 2 nights instead of a week and if we could have a late checkout on Thursday due to a work conference call that had to be attended on vacation - both of these requests were accommodated with a smile. The location was fantastic - a pub is 300 feet away, as well as, the rest of the Sutton's Bay Village. Even with all of the restaurants and shops nearby, it's still peaceful. The water is a short walk away and very visible from the cottage. The beach in front of the cottage has nice sand, volleyball courts and picnic tables. The property is also about a 10 min drive from some of the best wineries on the peninsula. We're getting married in May at Blackstar Farms Vineyard (10 min away) - I will make sure to recommend this cottage to our out of town guests."

  • Love, Love, LOVE This Place!

"Did I mention that we love this place?! You must rent this house. Seriously. It is adorable, clean, comfy, quiet, and remote yet still in easy driving distance to all of the local towns and sights. You can take a quick walk across the quiet and rarely traveled road to the beach, or take an early morning and late evening stroll down the tree lined street to the park. Christina was so easy to work with and so nice, she is very responsive and answers any and all questions in a flash. We just got home a few days ago and we already received our refund for our deposit. WOW! We cannot wait to come back again next year!!"
