"Six adults and two 3 year old grandchildren spent a week at the Dreamcatcher Cottage. The home is in a very quiet area and sits just across a small road from Green Lake. There is a small association park immediately in front of the cottage, with two small docks and a swimming area. You can see the lake from the cottage and can walk to the water in 30 seconds.
The cottage was well maintained and clean. There are three bathrooms and 3 bedrooms on two levels, so there is plenty of room for all. There are two eating areas as well as a full family room. And 3 fireplaces!
The owner was easy to deal with and prompt in replying to emails.
We used the cottage as a base to swim (in Green Lake) and at adjacent Interlochen State Park. It's an easy drive to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leland etc.
Great location, nice facilities and a beautiful lake."

"...at ThistleDew! What a memory making week for our little granddaughters-dinners prepared in the immaculate and fully stocked kitchen, rock combing on the beautiful private beach, eagle spotting, bonfires and s'mores courtesy of our gracious hosts-it was a wonderfully relaxing get away for four generations of our family. Thanks again, Barb, Jamie, and Ace for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Till we meet again..."

"Such a beautiful location! The lake view was gorgeous and we were thankful that it was easily accessible for everyone in our group. We were able to find activities and attractions that appealed to all different age groups within a close proximity to the cottage. Swimming, shopping, trips to the local farmers markets, and kayaking across the lake straight into Leland were some of our favorites. The cottage itself had a rustic feel about it, and the lawn was the perfect spot for a game of bocce ball next to an evening fire. Good times!"

Listing was very accurate! Sweet little cottage on a beautiful lake!
"Despite the previous reviewer's complaints, we booked this cottage, as the price was ideal for the location.
There are docks all along the lake, but there is a public access area at the end of the road and a little bit of sand for kids to dig and play. The water is crystal clear, thus the name, and is shallow enough to enjoy a pretty large area of water between the docks. Bring a kayak or paddleboard and enjoy the lake. There are several rental businesses in the area, too, many of whom will deliver to you.
A very nice public beach is a short bike ride along the Betsie Trail or drive into Beulah, which was our family's preference. A larger, beautiful beach on Lake Michigan is in Frankfort by the lighthouse.
The bath and bedroom ceilings are low, but my 6'2" husband managed just fine. Could be awkward for someone taller than 6'4", but with a decent attitude, it's manageable.
We did bring bottled water to drink, which served us well on our adventures, too. We have well water at home and struggle with the same issues of smell and taste, so we worked around it.
The property is shaded by mature trees. A Weber charcoal grill is on site and was fun to use (we bought our own bricks at the grocery). The neighbors are quiet and kind. Despite being on a public access road to the lake, it was not busy and no one was disruptive. We felt very safe during our week.
We enjoyed a lot of biking and hiking up at Sleeping Bear Dunes and a couple of visits to Glen Arbor. We took several bike rides on the Betsie Trail. We weren't fans of the ride from Beulah to Thompsonville, as it was a very rough path, but the area between Beulah and Frankfort was nice. For the serious rider, 22 miles of trail would be very enjoyable. Use an app such as Map My Ride or a Garmin and log some miles!
As with any rental, you may need to restock some supplies or bring your own from home. After having used Home Away / VRBO for 8 years, I keep a list of what I should bring or plan to purchase at a local grocery. The Family Fare grocery in Frankfurt met our needs for eating in and the kitchen was stocked enough for easy and simple meals.
We enjoyed this area and our stay very much!!"
