  • Traditional cottage feel with all the amenities of home

"We had a very pleasant stay in this cozy, clean cottage for a relaxing vacation. The owners have done a great job to assure that everything you need is at hand. The dock was handy for our small fishing boat. However, if you have a larger boat, it doesn't extend far enough to tie up, so you'll have to moor it in deeper waters. The mayflies had just hatched, so the fishing wasn't great, but the view of the lake is so beautiful, and the drive around the west side of the lake is breathtaking that just enjoying the view was enough. Three wineries are within a very short drive, one (Bel Lago) is a decent walk if you are ambitious enough to climb the hill. Chateau Fontaine was our favorite, and definitely try Martha's Table in Suttons Bay. The Northern Distillery is also a good stop in the village of Lake Leelanau, and we always stop into Dick's Pour House for a Plevalean burger. Much has changed since we last stayed in the area, but the lake itself and beautiful views are just the same. Felt like going home!"

  • Great for Extended Families

"My husband, kids & I stayed at Pine Patch for a week in July with my parents and my sister & brother-in-law. The property has a main cabin with two large bedrooms and two smaller cabins, which made it great for our extended families to vacation together. We were able to share meals together, play games, etc, but also able to retreat to our "own" areas when we wanted. The cottages were clean and well-maintained. The linens provided were very nice and the beds were really comfortable. There is a total of one queen and six twin beds, which would also make this a great place for a girls' weekend get-away (overworked mom talking here). There is plenty of parking for several cars. We enjoyed a nightly campfire and the views of the sunset. There is a large dock with two benches and steps going into the lake, which was handy for everyone in our party. There is a stairway down to the dock, which worked well for us as we were traveling with young children and the stairs gave them a clear boundry of where they could not wander unattended. Our kids particularly loved the hammocks and campfires. We also rented a pontoon boat and tube from a local marina and had a blast on the lake. The owner, Chris, was very helpful in answering our questions before and during our stay. I liked the fact that we dealt directly with the owner, rather than a property management company like many other rentals on Lake Leelanau. Other than food and clothes, Pine Patch was well-equiped with most of what we needed during our stay. We brought an extra cooler and regularly replenished it with ice because we had a lot of food and beverages for our large group. We had a minor problem while we were there and the caretaker quickly remedied the situation. Pine Patch is situated close to Leland, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, and various other charming small towns as well as Traverse City and the Sleeping Dunes National Lakeshore. Being there for a week renewed my love of Northern Michigan. If you haven't traveled to Leelanau County, you are missing out on some great wines, art, festivals, and water sports. Pine Patch will offer you a great "home base" to take it all in."

  • Fantastic Vacation

"The locations of this cottage is excellent. Very close to wineries and the town of Lake Leelanau. The property wasn't too far from Manitau Passage golf club or sleeping bear dunes. I would defiantly rent this cottage again. The cottage is beautiful with a nice piece of lake front property. The lakefront is all sandy bottom and you can walk out past 100 yards in the lake and it's only up to your waist. North Lake Leelanau also connects with South Lake Leelanau via the narrows. The cottage is fully stocked with pots and pans and everything you need to cook with. The cottage was also spotlessly cleaned when we arrived. We were very impressed. We had a fantastic week in Lake Leelanau and we can't wait to return. I want to thank the owner for sharing their cottage with us."
