  • Great Time Once Again In Leland

"My family and I have been coming to the peninsula for 32 years. We normally stayed at the same spot until a few years ago when we started trying homes through VRBO. We enjoy this experience very much. This house served 5 adults and 3 children well. We loved eating outdoors at their picnic table and the grandkids enjoyed the outdoor shower after bathing in Lake Michigan. We are the type of traveler who enjoys breakfast at home, lunch and hot spots during the day and cooking at home and eating outside each evening. We would return to this setting again. Walking distance to town, and the beaches and a nice quiet neighborhood setting."

  • Perfect location and accommodations!

"We were attending a wedding at Crooked Creek Ranch on Lake Leelanau during Labor Day weekend and decided to expand our trip into a week-long vacation. The Peek-a-Boo is centrally located on the Leelanau Peninsula so it was easy to travel to Northport, Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay, Leland, Traverse City, and everywhere in between. The cottage is tastefully appointed and the owners are so gracious--they really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. Beautiful rental--I highly recommend it!"

  • A few extra details....

"We rented this house because of it's location and size. In terms of the size, it was good. We were two families traveling with small children, so there were plenty of bedrooms to accommodate our group. However, in terms of the location, we were a bit disappointed that it was right on the main drag (road 204.) The traffic was a bit noisy but the real problem was Dick's Pour House - the bar across the street. You can hear the music clearly and if it's a rowdy crowd, that might be a problem too. We were [un]lucky enough to hear a bar fight while we were there. I realize that this could be specific to our experience, and may be a rare event, nonetheless, it's worth mentioning. The rest of the house was good in terms of amenities. The bathrooms had enough towels and the space was clean. The living room is a bit small if there is a large group, but there is a enclosed front porch area that was good for playing games, etc. and the kitchen table was good space as well. It would have been nice if there was a fire pit in the yard, as it is big and spacious, but the yard is also on a busy corner so there is really no privacy at all. All in all it was a decent place with a decent price and lots of flexibility in terms of renting it (most places require you to rent a week at a time in the summer) but it was just OK in terms of anything that would make it a memorable experience."

  • Clean comfortable home, excellent location

"This home was quite spacious -- more than adequate for our two families (9 people total, 5 kids under 8.) It included a well-stocked kitchen, and access to a Blu-ray player and nice TV for the couple of rainy days that we had. The grounds were beautiful -- lots of gorgeous flowers and decks. We enjoyed having access to the kayaks, and the lake was a good place to paddle. The lake is really quite shallow right by the shore, which is good for young children."
