  • Great Place to Get Away from it all.

"The owners are extremely thoughtful in all they do to prepare their home for renters and to make your stay enjoyable. We have never rented a home or condo that was more clean and we have rented numerous places. They have everything you need to prepare meals, grill out, or just enjoy a glass of wine on their wonderful deck with lake views. I didn't have to worry about running to the store to buy the little things like paper towels, more toilet paper, dish detergent etc. We lead very hectic lives and it was so very nice to just relax and reconnect with our 10 and 13 year old as well as each other, not to mention nature! This vacation we didn't have to spend a lot of money on the usual tourist trap things, especially the things the kids see and we get pulled into like $10pp putt putt, go kart tracks that are ridiculously expensive, bungee jumps etc etc. We swam, played Frisbee, ball, climbed the sand dunes, explored barns, kayaked, fished and just enjoyed the scenery. This vacation wasn't rushed like when we are at Disney but was relaxed and we had time to talk, laugh and play! Very nice. Thanks Chris and Annabelle for sharing your retreat."

  • Fall color tour getaway

"We love Traverse City in the fall!! The colors are incredibly beautiful and the city is less busy because all of the tourists have left. This house is set back and surrounded by trees so it was a perfect secluded setting for a color tour week. The home was absolutely beautiful when we first walked in. There was plenty of space for all six of us- we each had our own corner of the house. We even had a small baby with us and could not hear him cry during the night. It was very nice to have a fully stocked kitchen and laundry available, the only problem was the fact that we couldn't figure out how to use the oven. We also could not figure out the heat very well but were able to get it adjusted quickly so that everyone was comfortable. Everything else was pretty self-explanatory and the owners had a very detailed list and directions for us. It was a very short trip into town- only 15 minutes from a Meijer, which was VERY convenient! We went out to dinner every night and tried all of the local (and not so local) breweries! We went to the Jolly Pumpkin, North Peak, 7 Monks, and Shorts (about an hour and fifteen mins away, but VERY worth it!) We also did some wine tasting; Black Star Farms and Chateau Grand Traverse are a must!! The local farmers market wasn’t very big because of it being so close to fall and the shops at the Grand Traverse Commons were pretty disappointing with the exception to Trattoria Stella for lunch- it was pretty pricey but definitely worth it! We were able to go fishing quite a bit- the Walleye fishing on Long Lake was amazing! The boat launch is a short trip away from the dock and a very easy in and out. Getting the boat up and down the driveway took a little skill though. The dock needed a small amount of work but held our boat for the entire week without any problems. The owners were great! They communicate quickly and efficiently. We did not have any issues while we were there that needed their attention. They sent everything we needed ahead of time and everything went off without a hitch. We would absolutely stay here again! It was such a beautiful place and within a short distance to the city but far enough away to stay out of the traffic."

  • A true hideaway

"Tucked along a side street in Elberta, Michigan, this hideaway offers a lot for the couple or small family who are looking to be close to the action of Frankfort and surrounding areas without being right in the middle of it. Fantastic amenities, full washer/dryer, very equipped kitchen, fire pit all set in a very comfortable setting, made this getaway location ideal! Thanks to Maria for arranging all the details for us!!"
