"We had a wonderful time at the Bass Lake cottage, and Jackie was an absolute pleasure to work with. My wife and I met our daughter and her husband for a too-rare family vacation, and the cottage proved the perfect setting. The cottage was cozy, providing plenty of togetherness and plenty of privacy. Everything was in good order and the lake setting was splendid. One felt far removed from busy Traverse City -- until one wanted to be there and it was just minutes away. The rowboat, the paddleboat, the dock -- everything was in great shape, just begging to be enjoyed. If there's a single feature that sets the place apart, it's the screen-in porch, where we seemed to spend much of our time, enjoying each other's company and the beautiful lake setting. Just writing this makes me want to go back!"

"We love Traverse City in the fall!! The colors are incredibly beautiful and the city is less busy because all of the tourists have left. This house is set back and surrounded by trees so it was a perfect secluded setting for a color tour week.
The home was absolutely beautiful when we first walked in. There was plenty of space for all six of us- we each had our own corner of the house. We even had a small baby with us and could not hear him cry during the night. It was very nice to have a fully stocked kitchen and laundry available, the only problem was the fact that we couldn't figure out how to use the oven. We also could not figure out the heat very well but were able to get it adjusted quickly so that everyone was comfortable. Everything else was pretty self-explanatory and the owners had a very detailed list and directions for us.
It was a very short trip into town- only 15 minutes from a Meijer, which was VERY convenient! We went out to dinner every night and tried all of the local (and not so local) breweries! We went to the Jolly Pumpkin, North Peak, 7 Monks, and Shorts (about an hour and fifteen mins away, but VERY worth it!) We also did some wine tasting; Black Star Farms and Chateau Grand Traverse are a must!! The local farmers market wasn’t very big because of it being so close to fall and the shops at the Grand Traverse Commons were pretty disappointing with the exception to Trattoria Stella for lunch- it was pretty pricey but definitely worth it!
We were able to go fishing quite a bit- the Walleye fishing on Long Lake was amazing! The boat launch is a short trip away from the dock and a very easy in and out. Getting the boat up and down the driveway took a little skill though. The dock needed a small amount of work but held our boat for the entire week without any problems.
The owners were great! They communicate quickly and efficiently. We did not have any issues while we were there that needed their attention. They sent everything we needed ahead of time and everything went off without a hitch.
We would absolutely stay here again! It was such a beautiful place and within a short distance to the city but far enough away to stay out of the traffic."

"Our family really enjoyed the house. The owner goes beyond what I have ever experienced before to make you have a great stay. What you might not be able to get out the ad is all the extra the owner provides for you (extra towels, toys for kids, fishing poles, life jackets for an army, extras that would help with a toddler (pack and play, booster chair, baby gate...), well equipped kitchen and a welcome package. We packed as if we were renting any other house and found we didn't need half the stuff we brought."
