"Our family of three had a spacious (could really sleep 12 people) fabulous week from the moment we arrived and were greeted warmly in-person by the owners to provide a quick tour of all this lakefront home had to offer. It was fully stocked: 2 refrigerators and freezers, paper towels, toilet paper, plastic ware for the deck and good plates for inside, overhead and portable fans for hot days, plenty of soft towels for showering and the lake, and tons more. Mid-week the owners even conscientiously texted us to see if we had any needs. Some of our fun days were spent all day at the house swimming from the sandy beach, floating on the lake on their two large inner tubes, taking our dog for walks, gorging on delicious dinners thanks to their huge grill followed by s'mores by their fire pit, and using their rowboat to fish. (We used their fishing poles and tackle to catch a bunch of small crappie and even one larger bass.). We also spent fun days on excursions nearby: a canoe trip down the Manistee River, a hike through the national forest, a fishing charter (we brought back over 50 pounds of lake trout and had a delicious dinner fried over the fire pit), a roadtrip up scenic M-22 to Traverse City, and a local you-pick blueberry farm. If you like the outdoors and exercising, it's a treasure. We love to walk, jog, swim and bike, and there are plenty of safe and peaceful routes. We didn't even have time to use the ping pong and pool table in the basement.
Be aware that there is well water, which we are not used to, but because there are stores nearby with varieties of sizes of drinking water, it was not a problem. Otherwise, get ready for a peaceful and fun vacation. Probably the most relaxing and peaceful vacation our family has experienced. Also, our dog loved the huge completely fenced in yard. He came home from vacation tired but happy."
