"We have stayed at Torch Lake before but this has been our best stay to date. This cottage is perfect location as well as filled with old family tradition. Our family had a great time at the beach, including a great game of water football in front of the cottage where you can walk out in the water for 2 football fields before it's over your head. The deck was a great place to watch the nightly sun set. We would and will recommend Birchwood Cottage."

"We had a fantastic fishing trip to the Green Cottage last weekend. What an incredible location. The location on the Pere Marquette flies only section is incredible. We just loved this place and hope we can make it an annual stop for Steelhead and possibly Salmon runs. It is not a fancy cabin but had everything we needed and the price could not be beaten. We will be looking forward to our return."

"This was my first time to Michigan. Conveniently located a short walk from Lake Michigan. I didn't realize how close it was--convenient enough to walk across the street and see 3 out of the four best sunsets I've ever seen--and I was just there a week. The house is fairly basic with a gas heater in the living room. Pretty easy to get a cross-breeze going when it warms up. There's a view of Bar lake from the kitchen table. We would stay here again. We took advantage of springs rates because my wife was here to paint the shore, not swim in it. I'm not sure what it is like in the prime summer time, but we found this location to be fairly away from things, yet 5 minutes drive some restaurants and grocery stores in Manistee. Only a few persons walking the beach in early June."

"Jeannie and her house manager Lori made us feel at home and welcome. We had 5 guys at the lodge to relax after a few tough weeks of work and thoroughly enjoyed being on the lake. What a beautiful house, the experience could not have been better. Thanks so much. Great views, perfect fire pit, warm lake....the list goes on."
