  • Winter getaway

"My wife and I snuck away for an early week skiing getaway at Boyne Highlands. We were looking for a place away from the resort that made us feel like we were nestled in the northern woods. The Good Hart Retreat was it! From a crackling fire in the stone fireplace (with an amazing mantle) to the toasty hot tub, it had everything we wanted. The kitchen is well-stocked with the necessary utensils and there was tons of space to relax and unwind in. Take the drive up M-119 out of Harbor Springs and enjoy some beautiful vistas over Lake Michigan! The Good Hart retreat is about 20 minutes over country roads from Boyne. We hope to come back again next year!"

  • A Gem On Glen Lake

"My family of four (two young adult children) stayed at Murphy's Glen and had a wonderful time! We were personally greeted upon arrival and shown around the home. The house was immaculate to say the least. The location is simply beautiful! Glen Lake is crystal clear and we commented several times during the week that, if we didn't know better, we would swear we were staying in the Caribbean. The downstairs "fun center" is a blast. We rented bikes right in Glen Arbor and rode over to Glen Haven and the Sand Dunes. The weather was a little cold but we did have a chance to try out the kayaks on site a few times and couldn't believe how tranquil the lake was. The two swans that feed out near the dock daily add to the beauty. So much to do and see we cannot wait to return to Murphy's Glen on beautiful Glen Lake."

  • Perfect vacation!

"This was the perfect place for a great family vacation! We had two adults and four college aged children/guests. The home is more inviting and stunning than even the listed pictures which is truly saying something! The lake frontage is beyond breathtaking whether it was morning coffee on the deck off the master bedroom, or wine on the dock for sunsets, or late nights by the fire pit as you are never too old for roasted marshmallows. The home is fully stocked and equipped for all your needs whether it is indoor cooking, outdoor grilling, wifi or simply sharing a late night movie. The home is in a great location, plenty of privacy yet just 10 minute drive from both Suttons Bay and downtown Leland for dinner or shopping options. A little further but still easy trips were 30 minutes to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. All of which are great options to take advantage of should you have gotten a little too much sun or as a rainy day option. The water frontage was very sandy all around the dock area. If you were entering the water directly from the yard it is a little rocky and some may prefer water shoes. This was our first experience with VRBO and I have to say we hit the jackpot! The owners were very welcoming, informative, and professional to deal with and the property was everything we had hoped for and more. It was a fabulous week for our family and we would definitely return! Thanks so much for sharing your home."

  • Special place

"My partner Tim and I had a wonderful week with our two dogs and friends on Treasure Island in the middle of Spider Lake. Tim had grown up vacationing at a now defunct resort on the end of the lake called L'DaRu and was thrilled to find various artefacts and references from his childhood as part of the decor of the cabin. Jack and Sue are among the leaders of the whole happy Spider Lake community and when the island isn't being rented, seem to welcome visitors by boat to enjoy the island's many amenities. But it felt like ours completely during our stay there. No one quite knows how the chimpmunky animals came to inhabit the island, but they're there and provided our pups with endless chasing fun. Rent with confidence if you love water, boats, privacy, and rustic comfort."
