  • Cottage on the Lake

"My husband and I were all set to vacation at this beautiful cottage but unfortunately we had to cancel. The owner Joe, was so very gracious about the cancellation, understanding the circumstances. The communication I had with him initially was professional yet personal as he gave information on activities and areas surrounding the cottage that would possibly be an interest for us. Joe was easy to get a hold of and response time was within 24 hours. We definitely look forward to rescheduling. Thank you Joe, you are the kind of person that we like to interact with."

  • Family Reunion

"We rented the property for our family reunion. The condo was perfect for the 7 of us. The location to Empire Beach was great. With South Bar Lake as a backdrop, the morning view from the deck was superb. It was a short drive to Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Hope to stay there again."

  • A Wonderful and Peaceful Retreat

"This was the perfect getaway for a few days or a few weeks. The two of us only stayed four nights but had a great time which could only have been better if we had more time. Your hosts, Paul and Kim, provide everything you could possibly need except for clothing and food. If you are a couple just looking to get away from everything, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. The river is great, wild life abounds, and loads of time for catching up on your latest book. We could also see that there was plenty for a family also - lots of indoor and outdoor games for the kids, big and small. And even if you don't have a canoe, it is easy enough to rent one on the Manistee for a few hours to the entire day. We really hope to have a chance to go back next year and perhaps bring a few grandkids. If are looking for a negative, it would be hard to find one. But the only drawback is that the drive off the paved roads is a little long (takes about 20-25 minutes). However, this is part of the magic as it is very secluded, particularly during the week. We will be recommending this to our friends and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a north woods getaway."

  • Lovely Cottage!

"What a wonderful stay on the water! We have been coming to the Traverse City area with our family of 8 for four years now and thoroughly enjoyed this property. Despite the cool weather, our kids (ages 2-10) enjoyed combing the beach for petoskey stones, shells, frogs and other little critters. Don't forget the water shoes. They are a must with the zebra mussel shells lining the shore. We came prepared though per the recommendations. The cottage was clean and well-stocked with everything that we needed. Even though the shore was rocky and not the best swimming area (we knew this), on the warmer days we visited the association beach which was just a short bike ride away. It was pristine and had plenty of sandy frontage. Empire Beach, Good Harbor Beach and Peterson Park (the place for sunsets!) were a short drive and a must to visit. We also couldn't do without heading into Northport for a cinnamon twist from Barb's Bakery. Delicious! If you are looking for a place for the kids to go during crummy weather and they are tired of the numerous board games available, Tucker's in town has an arcade and bowling as well as great food options. The neighbors were very friendly and a joy to talk with. The owner was just a phone call away even though we didn't need to contact her. Overall, fantastic cottage if you have small children and want to be on the water but not too far from others. Thank you so much for making our stay unforgettable!"
