  • Just Right For Us

"We had an awesome time and Sandy (owner/manager) made us feel so very welcome and took care of all our questions and helped meet our requests and needs. We loved the access to Crystal River right outside our patio door and the quick easy walk over the dunes to Lake Michigan. The condo was small but perfect for just the two of us--it had all we needed and more. The decor' was so cute and fit the lake location. Most importantly the condo was super clean! The location was awesome for taking in the area sights (Glen Arbor, Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes, great restaurants, shopping, wineries, simply beautiful views) and just enjoying the Homestead grounds. We even took a ski lift ride to enjoy Music on the Mountain in the Homestead Resort. We simply loved the whole experience and heartily recommend this condo for a single person or couple."

  • Great Downtown Condo

"We have stayed in the Main St. Condo for several years now. We love the location, right in the heart of Harbor Springs. It is a perfect fit for anyone interested in biking, boating, hiking, shopping, skiing, or who is a foodie. The condo is beautifully designed and furnished, using contempory architecture with warm, friendly furniture. The natural light in the great room is amazing! And you can sip wine and sit on the balcony and watch the activity below you or at Irish Marina, a block away on Lake Michigan. The kitchen is a favorite of ours. Use the Viking Range, the wonderful cookware, sharp knifes, the ample counterspace, while you enjoy the views and visit with friends. It's all great! Kathryn is always helpful on the newest, or best restaurants. And get her recommendations for the weekly outdoor markets, the local farms you can visit, and the best specialty grocers. Toski-Sands, Bill's, Coveyou Farms, and Pond Hill are always fun to visit, and buy local, fresh foods. If you like food, Little Traverse Bay has much to offer. We also visit the area for all the wonderful outdoor activities. There are marina's for boats, pontoons, kayaks and canoes. We prefer Ryde Marina, a friendly, family place on Crooked Lake. But there are plenty of options to be on Lake Michigan or other waterways. The biking in the area is excellent. You can rent bikes two blocks from the condo from Ed at Touring Gear in downtown Harbor. And Petoskey has four or five bike shops. The dedicated trail from Harbor Springs to Charlevoix is absolutely beautiful. It is about 30 miles each way. Or take a shorter ride from Harbor to either Alanson or Petoskey. And ask Ed for the best road routes in the area. We vacation in Harbor every fall. The spring and fall months are our personal favorites, especially for the biking, boating and the fewer crowds. But the summers are fabulous, and the ski slopes are within a short drive. Anytime in the Little Traverse Bay Area makes for a great vacation."

  • Best place yet!

"I have several friends who get together every year or two since grad school. We are all around 40, some with kids, others single or recently married. We all stayed at this cottage and had a wonderful time. We have stayed in New York City, North Carolina's outer banks, Vermont, and two places further south on Lake Michigan (near Saugatuck.) However, everyone agreed that this place was the best we had ever rented! We usually stay right on a big body of water, but it was really great to have a large in-land lake, as Lake Michigan was so cold this year. It is a short drive to multiple beaches (and of course the dunes!), but this summer it was too cold to swim in Lake Michigan. So, having the sandy bottomed inland lake was great. We also took advantage of the kayaks, paddle-board and sunfish, along with the indoor games of pool, ping-pong & Foosball. The house was in immaculate condition. Many of my friends commented that they thought that the house was too nice to rent out! There are beautiful hardwood floors, nice furniture, actual artwork, and a large custom kitchen that was well stocked with everything needed to cook large meals. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we would definitely rent this cottage again."

  • A Peaceful Place

"If you like misty fields in the morning and being surrounded with comforting linens, pottery made on site, interesting antiques and collectibles, all to the accompaniment of birdsong, you will love the French Road Farmhouse. The decor suits the setting perfectly making for a very peaceful base of operations for sightseeing to Sleeping Bear Dunes or visiting local small towns and harbor villages. The Leelenau peninsula is dotted with fields of wheat, crops, orchards and pretty farmsteads so even the getting-there is relaxing."
