  • Beautiful Place!

"This was a wonderful place for our reunion of college classmates -- ample space for socializing as well as for privacy; great amenities - watercraft, hot tub, walking trails; and very thoughtful hosts. The house and property was well maintained overall, and the kitchen facilities served us well for preparing meals. The location is very handy for walking to nearby businesses for groceries, pastries, coffee, wine, and dining out. And the Leelanau Peninsula offers many sightseeing attractions. My wife and I were somewhat distracted by the traffic noise on the highway in front of the house; but it was a minor concern."

  • Great Family Stay

"Our family of six enjoyed a couple of nights stay at this Cadillac cottage. The lake and location was beautiful. We spent quite a bit of time swimming boating and floating on the lake. We also enjoyed biking in the area. The stretch of the White Pine Trail from Cadillac to Tustin was a great morning ride and a really beautiful stretch of the trail. It is very accessible from this cottage just off of 115 on the way towards Cadillac. If you take the trail, there's a great little ice cream shop in Tustin that was started by two teenagers--very impressive and great ice cream. We also took our dog hiking on a beautiful trail across the lake from the cottage. It is a nature preserve. You can get there by boat, or we found you can drive over and park as well (good since there's no way our dog would go in a boat). It's probably about 1.5 miles of hiking in dense forest. We saw three deer while in there. Cadillac is also a really fun town, and the twin lakes have lots of opportunities. The cottage is very nice. We were very comfortable and really enjoyed the screen porch and yard. The owner is very easy to work with and great at communicating and answering questions. His caretaker, brother is also a big help and closeby. We plan to come back. It's also very nice to find a place that can be rented for shorter than a week."

  • Perfect Getaway

"We just enjoyed a week long stay at this lovely home, and honestly every aspect of our visit was perfect. Lisa was very helpful and replied right away when I had a question. You can tell that she truly wants her home to be a relaxing getaway for the folks who visit. The home is very gracious and she has thought of so many details to make your stay a pleasant one. The home is situated on a busy street, but we never had any trouble getting in/out of the drive, and there was no need to spend any time in the street-facing front yard, because the back of the home is the beach! We have two young children and I was a little concerned before arriving about being on a busy road, but it was not a problem for us at all. The thoughtfulness of the white noise machines in the bedroom was very much appreciated (although the traffic noise was not loud in my opinion - it was still super helpful to keep the kiddos asleep in their room.) The layout of the house is so nice for a vacation home. There is a long wash/mud/entry room where you can leave all of your bags etc. All of the windows look out onto the bay and the beach and it is just so peaceful and relaxing. We loved the outdoor furniture for meals, and we used the fire pit many times. It made it easy to enjoy these things because we were so close to the home so getting things to and from the kitchen was easy. There is also a large sun room porch that was nice on chilly mornings, since it heated up right away. I enjoyed relaxing with a book there. The decor of the home is modern, comfortable, tasteful, and beautiful. It was spotless when we arrived, and everything that guests may need (cleaning supplies etc.) was very well organized. The location of this home is really nice. We have also stayed in Glen Arbor and enjoyed that, but this was a really great set-up. It's nice to be on the bay, as the water is calm and quiet, but you are still on the vast Lake Michigan. Even though there are neighbors nearby, it felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. Maybe because we went early in the season? It was very quiet and peaceful. Being in Traverse City meant easy access to some great bakeries and dining, and yet getting to the Leelanau peninsula was also quick and easy. I would definitely recommend this property, and I hope to stay here again!"
