  • Awesome house in the perfect location!

"This house was wonderful! It's literally an easy one to two city block walk to either Portage Lake orLake Michigan. The beach on Lake Michigan is just gorgeous. You almost feel like it's your own private beach. The appliances, furnishings and decor are very up-to-date and it's an extremely clean place. (Cleaner than most of the hotels we stayed in!) The owner leaves a manual, almost like the one you'd find in a hotel...it tells you everything you need to know about the local area: where to get things, where to go for activities, local hot spots etc. It's extremely useful if you don't know the area well. We will definitely be booking again for next year."

  • Wonderful property!

"We had five adults in our group for a week and for 2 days our 2 grandchildren stayed with us as well. This house has tons of space, is very well equipped and very comfortable. There was plenty of space in the yard between the lake and the house for a game of baseball for the big and little boys. The lower level walk-out boasts a poker table and a bumper pool table. You won't find a better view and there is endless Lake Michigan beach to walk on. The owners are just two doors down and make themselves available for anything you need. This is a great vacation spot!"

  • Great Lake Retreat

"This is a wonderful Michigan cottage offering enough space for one large family or two mid-sized families. We shared it with another family during our July 2013 stay and found it to be well-equipped to handle our needs. We had a total of 11 and never felt cramped. Large kitchen with plenty of counter space to prepare and set out meals. Table for 8 and additional seating on the front porch (which is what we seemed to prefer). Incredible shaded front and back areas provided just the right break from the mid-day sun and the constant breeze was incredible too. With access to Portage Lake right across the street and to Lake Michigan just a short walk away, we were constantly enjoying the water and proving that Onekama's slogan being "A Two Lake Town" was absolutely spot-on. Great recreational boating and fishing in Portage Lake and then some wave riding, sunsets and scenic coastal views out on Lake Michigan. Incredible. We also enjoyed lots of relaxing walks along Lake Michigan and the surrounding Portage Point side streets. Began every morning with a jog out to the natural fresh water spring down the street. Enjoyed a fun trip up the road to Arcadia where we parked at the "Old Baldy Trailhead" and walked the shaded 1.5 mile trail out to the "Old Baldy" dune. After scampering down to the bottom and a swim in Lake Michigan, it was time to begin the trip back up. Very challenging. Almost as large as the Sleeping Bear dunes, but isolated and free. Then we spent 20 minutes admiring the wonderful lake/coastal view and back out to the car. Great 2 hour excursion. Lots of ways for the kids to entertain themselves in a unique family-friendly environment. Bring a bike and a beach chair and settle in for one relaxing getaway!"
