"We love Traverse City in the fall!! The colors are incredibly beautiful and the city is less busy because all of the tourists have left. This house is set back and surrounded by trees so it was a perfect secluded setting for a color tour week.
The home was absolutely beautiful when we first walked in. There was plenty of space for all six of us- we each had our own corner of the house. We even had a small baby with us and could not hear him cry during the night. It was very nice to have a fully stocked kitchen and laundry available, the only problem was the fact that we couldn't figure out how to use the oven. We also could not figure out the heat very well but were able to get it adjusted quickly so that everyone was comfortable. Everything else was pretty self-explanatory and the owners had a very detailed list and directions for us.
It was a very short trip into town- only 15 minutes from a Meijer, which was VERY convenient! We went out to dinner every night and tried all of the local (and not so local) breweries! We went to the Jolly Pumpkin, North Peak, 7 Monks, and Shorts (about an hour and fifteen mins away, but VERY worth it!) We also did some wine tasting; Black Star Farms and Chateau Grand Traverse are a must!! The local farmers market wasn’t very big because of it being so close to fall and the shops at the Grand Traverse Commons were pretty disappointing with the exception to Trattoria Stella for lunch- it was pretty pricey but definitely worth it!
We were able to go fishing quite a bit- the Walleye fishing on Long Lake was amazing! The boat launch is a short trip away from the dock and a very easy in and out. Getting the boat up and down the driveway took a little skill though. The dock needed a small amount of work but held our boat for the entire week without any problems.
The owners were great! They communicate quickly and efficiently. We did not have any issues while we were there that needed their attention. They sent everything we needed ahead of time and everything went off without a hitch.
We would absolutely stay here again! It was such a beautiful place and within a short distance to the city but far enough away to stay out of the traffic."

"My husband and I just returned home from our vacation today, and we very much enjoyed this house. I am very fussy when it comes to walking into a clean house and this house was just that. You could smell the cleanliness. They even added a vase of freshly picked flowers to welcome us. The natural light from all the windows was fabulous, and we even watched a raccoon enjoying the sweet cherries on several different occasions from the living room. The living room also had very comfortable furniture, which was a big bonus. We were sad to leave the area, where this house was in a nice location to travel to Sutton's Bay to enjoy the small shops, Traverse City to shop and enjoy Tandem Ciders, and Cedar to eat at the Sol Taco Stand. The owners were readily available when we noticed that cable cords were missing from the DVD player and brought us a set almost immediately. They were VERY easy to work with and that is also a great bonus.
The only reason we didn't give this an excellent review, wished there was a VERY GOOD button, was because the house was on the corner of M22 and another pretty well traveled road. The traffic was almost a constant. When the traffic wasn't there, the birds were chirping and it was a total relaxation moment.
We would not hesitate to come back, even knowing the noise of the cars. The house had lots of character and it was neat to hear that the owner grew up in the house."

"We had a great time staying in Newport! We visited several attractions within minutes of the cottage. The weather was absolutely picture perfect and the entire family enjoyed the stay. We combed the beach for all sorts of rocks and special finds. I would recommend the water shoes as well for the beach/rocks/shells. The cottage had everything we needed to enjoy our time up north. We made smores/Hot dogs over the camp fire on the property. Thanks again for a memorable stay! The owner is top notch with communications!"

"Wow, we had a wonderful time staying at this lovely home. We stayed for a whole month and it felt like home to us. Maureen and Fredrik are amazing hosts and they were always there to answer any questions or help with anything at all. The home was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The location was great -just 3 blocks from downtown Suttons Bay. We often would walk downtown to dinner at one of the many nice restaurants. The beds were very comfortable and there was always enough hot water for showers. We loved cooking in the fully stocked and spacious kitchen. The kitchen is designed for entertaining! The home is sunny and the water view is beautiful. We would welcome the chance to stay here again."
