  • Fall trip

"We, a group of 5-7 couples have been doing a fall trip for several years now. Started in the Frankfort area, then Traverse City, but this year we came to Petoskey. Needed a house with at least 6 bedrooms and I was lucky enough to find this one. Best house ever. It's like something you would see on tv. Only a few miles out of town so it's close to everything. We will be coming back this next fall and I hope for years to come. Owners are great to communicate with and had no problems with the house at all. If anyone reads this and is planning a trip in this area you should check it out."

  • CONVENIENT, COZY AND CHARMING

"Because our family loves Petoskey and the surrounding region so much, we’ve vacationed in that area many times. We’ve stayed in hotels, B&Bs, and a variety of different condos, but "Lakeview" was the first house we've rented. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Once you have unpacked, it feels more like you are at home than in a rental unit. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood right in Petoskey. It’s an easy walk from this charming home down to Petoskey’s historic Gaslight District, and the views of Little Traverse Bay from the house are pretty hard to beat. Our stay at "Lakeview" was easily one of our most enjoyable vacations in the Little Traverse Bay area."

  • Great for big families

"A beautiful old large home. The historic home is in an Association with other historical homes. This house is very large and plenty of seating for everyone. We came for the first 4 nights with my husband and 3 children and didn't even touch half the house. Later our extended family joined us bringing 5 more adults and 5 more children. We went some times without even seeing everyone in the house! The Association has a lot of amenities to enjoy. There is a baby pool that is 18 inches to 42 inches for children 0-8 complete with a lifeguard, there is a roped off swimming area with a sandy beach along with 2 more lifeguards, there are 5 tennis courts directly across from the house, and also there are fire pits at the beach that can be reserved for nightly use. Close to stores, restaurants, and State Parks. The only surprise we encountered was that there was not a propane tank for the gas grill located on the back deck. The owner is very good with answering any questions you may have and answers emails in a timely manner. Overall we throughly enjoyed ourselves and couldn't have asked for a better home and location to spend our vacation."

  • Michigan was exceptionally good with our stay at the cottage we found through VRBO

"My wife Margaret & I have traveled the world for 43 years. As "senior travelers", we look forward to trips and expect the best in accommodations/lodging. We always heard how lovely Michigan was in the summer. Coming from the south. we were looking for cooler weather mostly. Not only did we find cooler weather but we found the incredible beauty of Michigan with it's many lakes, forest, rolling hills & farm lands. We explored from Kalamazoo in the southwest all the way north to Munising and the Picture Rocks National Lakeshore throughout August. Friends ask us about our favorite part of this special month in Michigan. We say our time in Northwest Petoskey. With the length of our stay in Michigan we wanted a home not a hotel room. We found the perfect cottage for us. The location was just a few mile north of Petoskey. Everything we wanted to see and do in the area was within a short drive. The cottage was very spacious. The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It's furnishings/decor, it's size could not have been better. The property was very clean and well maintained. The owner had material in the home that provided helpful tips on things to see & do in the area. Anytime we had questions throughout our stay, the owner was always available by phone to answer our questions. We love golf & found an abundance of fine golf in the area. We love sailing and found the perfect sunset cruise back in Charlevoix. Another day was spent on the lake just across the street exploring for adventure by renting a pontoon boat. We have seen many places in our 44 years of travel. Our trip to Michigan was lovely. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone traveling through the Northwest Petoskey area.
