  • Relaxing summer stay

"We stayed at the condo for a week in August 2014 with our daughter and family totaling 4 adults and 2 children (10 & 4). It was wonderful having the downstairs apartment giving both adult couples privacy. We visited Petoskey National Park, Boyne Highlands, the cities of Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Prepared many meals in the condo using the grill and (much to the boys delight) the pancake griddle. Our daughter and the 10 year old enjoyed zip-lining on Michigan's longest zip line at Boyne while our son-in-law and the 4 year old rode the chair lift up and back. Everybody enjoyed the pool, playground and tennis courts on the condo property. Golfing was convenient next door at the country club. We drove up to Mackinaw and took the ferry to the island where the younger people biked the island. The condo was clean and very comfortable and we would definitely like to return someday."

  • Great spot for nature lovers and their hyper dogs!

"My husband and I (early 30’s) weren't sure as we pulled in (the treehouse is a guest house over the garage, with the owners living about 200 feet away). Was this the beginning of a horror movie? Turn out, our stay turned out to be absolutely wonderful. Tom and Kathy have the perfect personalities for making you feel comfortable and at home, and we couldn’t have had a better location for enjoying all at the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer. Other than this rental and rustic camping up at the state park, there really are no other lodging options in the area, and we got full access to incredible beaches and hiking trails with virtually NO crowds. We felt like staying at the treehouse was a unique take on deluxe camping – an awesome deck with bird watching and star gazing, but with the comfort of a fantastic king-size bed and a kitchen stocked with tin foil, olive oil, coffee, the works. Most importantly, this place is AMAZING if you have an energetic dog who loves to explore woods. With the gated deck and acres and acres of property, you couldn’t ask for a place to stay with a dog. We walked her (off-leash) around their property when she wasn’t already exhausted from hiking through sand dunes or cruising the downtowns of Northport and Sutton’s Bay, and it was ideal to say the least. (Usually getaways are a special treat for the humans, but this place is also a glorious vacation for a well-behaved dog with extra energy!) Bottom line: Diamond in the rough. This place is high-demand due to repeat visitors, so book early (like, 8-10 months in advance) and it’ll be worth your while. As long as you are prepared for semi-rustic (even change your own sheets afterwards in lieu of a cleaning fee if you want) and willing to sacrifice a little privacy in having Tom and Kathy and their Jack-Russell terrier close by, it really is a great gig. Nothing like it (or even close) in the area!"

  • Nice Hideaway!

"Property sits well back off the main road; hardly any traffic noise. Very nice and roomy, with full kitchen and utensils, if you wanted to cook. Perfect for a couple's getaway. Near many wineries and other interests of the area. About 8 minutes out of downtown TC, easy to get to. Owners friendly and helpful. Everything you need is provided for. Will visit again when staying in area."

  • Family vacation

"Very nice place to stay :) we had our 12 year old and 9 year old with us. They loved having the loft to escape to. It was a nice " home base" for our travels. We went to sleeping bear, Fishtown, Sutton Bay, Traverse city, Mission Point and grand traverse light houses and of course the cute town of Northport. The cabin was comfortable with a pretty yard. We will most likely visit again."
