  • Spacious Comfortable Home in a Great Location

"This home is just as described and is well-represented in the photos. This is the third home we have rented on Big Platte Lake and find it perfect--you can go to several different beaches, kayak Platte Lake out to Platte Point beach, go to the Cherry Bowl drive in, pick blueberries, and have some great family time. One night when we were having a fire, 2 foxes walked right by us. We could have reached out and touched them (we didn't, of course, but they were interested in our smores!). You will need to bring your own bed linens and towels, and also your own pillows if you are picky about that. The neighbors were quite nice; one neighbor is apparently the head of the homeowner's association, and my nephew called him the Mayor of the Lake :). He took some photos of our family for us right before we left. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment and dishes; we brought our own non-stick pan which was helpful. The water was very shallow a long way out. Not great for swimming (would be great if you had toddlers), but we rented a kayak for the week and our younger kids had fun just paddling around safely in the shallow water. I would recommend this property!"

  • Great Get-away Site

"My wife and I had a very peaceful and relaxing week here. The lake view was great and the surrounding setting was wonderful. Its location in relation to Cross Village a great - we walked easily to Leggs for lunch."

  • Clean comfortable home, excellent location

"This home was quite spacious -- more than adequate for our two families (9 people total, 5 kids under 8.) It included a well-stocked kitchen, and access to a Blu-ray player and nice TV for the couple of rainy days that we had. The grounds were beautiful -- lots of gorgeous flowers and decks. We enjoyed having access to the kayaks, and the lake was a good place to paddle. The lake is really quite shallow right by the shore, which is good for young children."

  • A Great Spot

"My friends and I rented the house for the weekend and wanted to be within walking distance to the beach and the downtown area and it worked out great from this location. The walk would be far for a family or someone who doesn't want to do a lot of walking though. The house was spacious and had plenty of room for us to come and go. Just wish there was more than one spare key."
