  • If Only We Could Live at Thistle Dew!

"My small family (2 humans and 2 dogs), went to Thistle Dew for a short midweek vacay and we LOVED it. Our favorite part was the beach of course, we walked and the dogs played in the water for hours then we sat in the little beach shelter an watched the sunset, there isn't anything better anywhere. The weather was perfect about 70 degrees and sunny, warm enough for swimming and cool enough for long walks. One day we went to the Manistee river for a nice hike on the North Country Trail, ten went down to the beach again. Thistle Dew is a charming house with a GREAT kitchen. I wish we had done more advanced planning so we could have had friends come with us. The house could easily fit 6 adults for long vacation and with the large kitchen and outside facilities a nice house party would be so much fun. However, the thing that sold us on Thistle Dew was how dog friendly it was. My dogs were completely at home and so excited to have so much new territory to explore, plus you know the whole 600' of Lake Michigan shoreline! Barb was so sweet and welcoming and Ace was darling, such a silly Golden boy! We are definitely planning a repeat visit next year."

  • Pleasant week in Frankfort in this great condo

"I highly recommend this property for a vacation rental. It's location in downtown Frankfort is an ideal location for a relaxing stay. There are a couple of nice restaurants just across the street and a movie theater and ice cream shops very close by. Just a short two block walk and you are on a Lake Michigan beach. Our two teenaged sons absolutely loved the place. The owner was very helpful and the property was very clean and well maintained. Our only complaint is we were on the second floor and a family with small children were in the unit above us. At times it sounded like they were hosting a children's soccer tournament up there. We did complain to the owner and she must have asked them to tone it down because it wasn't too bad after that. Overall we would rent it again but I would try to get the third floor unit."

  • Bearberry House in Glen Arbor

"Our family (ages 2 to sixties) spent a week at Bearberry House. It is inviting, spacious, well equipped, and in an ideal location, just perfect for the twelve of us. The owner called us the day we arrived to be sure that we had everything we needed and was happy to answer any questions about the area. Bearberry's proximity to Glen Arbor allowed us to walk to shops, restaurants, ice cream, a playground, putt-putt, and Lake Michigan, so we weren't constantly in the car. We had options to swim at a number of beaches in Lake Michigan, and the nearby Sleeping Bears National Seashore was a real gem with dunes to climb, hiking trails, the beautiful Pierce Stocking Drive, and historic Glen Haven. We ate in often but also tried several restaurants, all of which were enjoyable. Best of all are the priceless memories our family now shares!"

  • Fabulous Home/Ideal Location

"Our stay in this fabulous home in the heart of the charming waterfront town of Elk Rapids was just perfect. The home exceeded all expectations, even though the photos and descriptions on the website were wonderful. Our weeklong stay included our family of four (two adults, two teens) plus one set of grandparents. The house set-up was perfect for our group. We all agreed that our favorite room was the bright and cheerful front porch (though every single room was lovely)! The kitchen was extremely well appointed and we were able to cook and entertain with ease. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the handy laundry hampers in every room along with the nicely appointed laundry facilities in the basement. We were just thrilled with the location as in put us within walking distance of everything we could want or need including the beach, the library, “the Chute” (natural water slide in the river), a quaint movie theater, numerous restaurants (Siren Hall was a favorite), an ice cream shop (try the cherry-amaretto…yum!), a local historical museum, gift shops, a wonderful wine shop (complete with delicious gourmet food items and a helpful/knowledgeable owner!), picnic areas, a drug store, etc. The owner of the home was extremely helpful in every way and very easy to communicate with. We highly recommend this property to anyone considering a vacation get-away in beautiful northern Michigan!"
