  • Outstanding.

"We stayed here during our trip to Traverse City for our sons wedding. Upon arrival we were pleasantly suprized at how modern and spotlessly clean the house was. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay here from our bonfires on the beach to the quite mornings on the deck watching the wildlife. We've stayed at many places up north but none nicer than this. Chris is a pleasure to do business with. We will definitely make this our place to stay in the future."

  • Suttons Bay in October

"The location to Suttons Bay is great. The house is a tri-level; the layout gives everyone room to move around. There are 5 bedrooms and plenty of beds and air mattresses. The bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is big enough for several people to work in; the dining table easily seats 12. The living room is in the front of the house and has 2 wicker rockers and a 2-person wicker seat -- not really relaxing. To the owners: I would move the dining table to the front of the house (under the chandelier) and put living room furniture (sectionals) in the area adjoining the kitchen so that everyone can be seated comfortably and see the lake view and visit with people in the kitchen. There is a gas fireplace and it can really put out the heat. The beach is rocky so I'm not sure what swimming would be like in the summer. House needs updating -- paint/décor and showers. There are way too many baskets & "stuff" on the top of the cupboards and everywhere with a mixture of old-fashioned quilts (not my personal taste), old traditional paintings and just a bit of lake décor. The decks are very good for viewing the lake and the fall colors. There were instructions taped everywhere which was a bit annoying - did the owners have had a bad experience with a renter? The property met the needs of the 12 of us."

  • Beautiful

"What a beautiful home the owners provide to their visitors. When you arrive and see the marvelous view from the top of the road it is just remarkable. I was in awe as we drove down the road that lead to such a gorgeous home. The day we arrived it was sunny and clear, such a perfect fall day. The sun was peeking through the trees, birds were chirping, it was really quite peaceful. Friends and I stayed at the farm on a weekend away to prepare for my wedding. The two nights we stayed it was hard for us to leave the home to get anything accomplished. The home is just so welcoming and someplace you can just cuddle up and read a book. If the view wasn't enough....you then enter this beautiful home. I have a passion for cooking and have a natural knack of being a hostess. So while we stayed at this home, I was able to provide my friends with all the amenities of home. The kitchen at this property was absolutely amazing....and if there is one thing I dislike most about housekeeping it is washing the dishes....although at this home it didn't seem like such a chore, you have such a breathtaking view from the kitchen sink that your thoughts of "doing the dishes" just seemed to float away. The day we left Valley View Farms I had such a sad feeling; it was such a remarkable place to vacation - that it was so hard to leave at the end of our trip! This is a property that I will most definitely keep in my list of favorite vacationing spots. Which intentions of returning some day! You will surely love Valley View Farms if you want a peaceful, secluded, relaxing home to spend time with your loved ones."

  • One of our favorite places ever!

"This is the second time we've stayed in this cottage at Sutton's Bay. Both times we have absolutely loved every second of our stay. The cottage is immaculate and exactly as described. The private beach is lovely - a nice, quiet, sandy beach area protected even on the windy days. The Leelanau peninsula has lots to offer - quaint shops, yummy restaurants and gorgeous places to explore. The cottage is an easy drive to Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse in Northport - there's no shortage of things to do! We will be returning again!"
