  • Very Rustic and Peaceful

"We recently stayed at this rental and had the most amazing time in this cabin! We had two boys and our dog! The boys absolutely loved the loft area and thought having the ladder that took them to their room was awesome! The property the cabin sits on is very relaxing and very peaceful! Your are surrounded by trees and wilderness! The river view is breathtaking off the back porch! The fly fisherman and sounds of the fish flopping in the water at night completes the up north feel! The dock is a nice addition for our boys spent hours down their using their imagination and playing! We had a lot of fun! It was family friendly and we found that we didn't even really need to go anywhere else because of all the things we could do right there on the property! It was only a 2 minute drive to the beautiful torch lake! And in close vicinity to a lot of other beautiful destinations and great things to do! The owners were very accommodating and provided us with county maps and information about the area! It was a wonderful family vacation!"

  • Great Getaway!!

"My wife and I booked the cabin for my birthday/Valentines Day. We loved the cabin, it was very cozy inside with the fireplace as the temps dropped outside to -24 with 30mph winds. We spent most of the time in and out of the hot tub as it was way too cold to ride our snowmobiles that weekend, I tried a 2 min ride and it was unbearable but the hot tub was nice and toasty! The cabin has everything you need and is set upon a beautiful overlook making the scene in the winter a true wonderland. We did have some struggles making pancakes in the morning, there is in fact a well equipped full kitchen but they need a griddle:) The local area taverns are close as is a family dollar (griddle shopping) and a fully stocked grocery store is just down the road a bit. We ate dinner on Friday at the Alden Bar and was not impressed at all, the second night we stopped into the local tavern Kritters and the food was super and the décor wild! Take the trip up to Rapid City, very quiet and cozy getaway for 2."

  • Great time on Torch Lake

"My family and I had a wonderful time! One of the best places we have rented over the years. The house is older, but in very good condition. It was very clean, and had everything we needed to have a great week. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes.... The 3 bed rooms are very good size and have great views of the lake. The little room off the kitchen worked well with a nice sofa bed in there. The place was large...big enough for our whole gang, both inside and out. One day we had our large group plus some extra day visitors and there was plenty of room. Lots of chairs outside on the deck and the grass. We had campfires each night after boating and swimming all day.... The old log cabin out back worked out great for my group of teens, they loved it! The water off the dock is shallow (3 feet?) and the bottom is stony so bring some water shoes. But the water is very clear! We were it there every day! We highly recommend this place."

  • A beautiful way to get away for a while.

"We fell in love with your vacation home from the pictures and hoped that they were a real depiction of the place. We were not disappointed. The home was lovely and spotless and had everything that you'd ever need to have a wonderful vacation. We had 3 girls who rode the bikes into town every day and played games in the four seasons room on rainy days. We we shopped in Alden and Bellaire and Charlevoix. We went to several good restaurants around the lake. We rented a boat and the girls went tubing and we even got to watch the Tigers on your big screen TV. Everyone was happy because there were so many options. We had all of our meals on the outside deck where we grilled and there was plenty of both sun and shade . Most days there was a nice breeze and, of course, the gorgeous lake to look at. We loved the park like landscaping and the all over beauty and serenity of the place. Everyone gave us a friendly wave as we drove in and out on the street. We ate at Dockside , the Torch Riviera, the Wild Onion , and The Alden Bar. We had giant ice cream cones at the little store in Alden. I also bought a couple of winning lotto tickets there. We replenished our spices from the Spice Mill and bought smoked fresh fish from the smokehouse in Bellaire. The entire week seemed almost magical to us and we would highly reommend it to our friends . We left reluctently with great memories and feeling very relaxed."
