  • Fall Getaway!

"My husband and I enjoyed a fall trip to this perfect cottage on Torch Lake! Very conveniently located to all things an adventurer would want to do! We shopped, and hiked, and relaxed and enjoyed the quiet beauty of fall. The house was perfect and Kim was a lovely hostess. It's a wonderful time of year to be in Northern Michigan and loved the convenience and amenities the house offered. Would surely return! Thanks so much for the hospitality and kindness shown. We are big fans!!"

  • Weekend Wedding with Friends

"Our stay at this beautiful Torch Lake home was great in every way! The Master Bedroom overlooks the beautiful lake and the California King sized bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The other bedroom was huge and could sleep 6 people comfortably - possibly even 8 because one of the beds has a trundle. There is also a sofa sleeper in the den. The décor was very nice and the furniture placement had good feng shui. The grill on the deck was new and we grilled out and were able to enjoy the sunset. Another night we used the wood that the owner provided to build a fire in the fireplace and watched E.T. Late one evening I went down to the dock to meditate - the stars were beautiful and the lake was very serene and calm. It was quiet and peaceful. On the last morning, we drove down to the "Flea Market" where a lady makes fresh donuts every Sunday. They were a tasty indulgence. We also had lunch one day at Shorts in Bellaire - their pizza is amazing, as are their sandwiches..."

  • Great Pet-Friendly Cottage

"We stayed here for a week in early August 2014. Overall, our experience was great. It was me, my wife, my 2 year old and a 10 lb dog. The cottage was clean and comfortable - but keep in mind - its a cottage. We brought a boat, which we planned on having on the mooring (which is in about 5 feet of water), but they allowed us to use the lift which was great. We spent a lot of time at the Sandbar, its a good 30 min ride @ 25 - 30 MPH. The lake bottom around the dock is rocks, so water shoes are a good idea. Our favorite part of the cottage, which is not shown in the photos, was the large side yard for our dog and 2 year old to run around. There is plenty of room for kids to play and the grass allowed them to be barefoot. The only downsides to this cottage were no dish washer, no access to the washing machine and the electric range was not the greatest. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this property (as long as you don't mind doing dishes)."

  • Unique ! Relaxing ! You wont be disappointed !!!!!

"Clean , comfortable , well equipped , charming , historical touches , sweeping view of the lake , beautiful yard and gardens ..... And to add , the owners are very accommodating and hospitable. The location keeps you in the center of Alden , to enjoy a leisurely walk thru the town , or enjoy the private back yard setting , dock , and view the lake. Alden is centrally located in general , to travel to other points of interest as well , and be back in enough time to take in a sunset on Torch , which are always second to none ."
