  • Beautiful sunsets!

"We had always wanted to see Torch Lake and were pleased to find this property on VRBO. It has it all: lakeside beach, dock, deck, outdoor swings, woodsy out-of-doors feel and a charming "granny cottage". The owner is very organized with instructions, lists of places to eat and things to do, and responsive to questions. The cottage is neat, cozy & clean, with great spaces for gathering, and decorated with very interesting old books for the evening or rainy day. We rented a pontoon nearby and cruised Torch Lake and nearby Clam Lake--great fun!"

  • Weekend Wedding with Friends

"Our stay at this beautiful Torch Lake home was great in every way! The Master Bedroom overlooks the beautiful lake and the California King sized bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The other bedroom was huge and could sleep 6 people comfortably - possibly even 8 because one of the beds has a trundle. There is also a sofa sleeper in the den. The décor was very nice and the furniture placement had good feng shui. The grill on the deck was new and we grilled out and were able to enjoy the sunset. Another night we used the wood that the owner provided to build a fire in the fireplace and watched E.T. Late one evening I went down to the dock to meditate - the stars were beautiful and the lake was very serene and calm. It was quiet and peaceful. On the last morning, we drove down to the "Flea Market" where a lady makes fresh donuts every Sunday. They were a tasty indulgence. We also had lunch one day at Shorts in Bellaire - their pizza is amazing, as are their sandwiches..."

  • A beautiful way to get away for a while.

"We fell in love with your vacation home from the pictures and hoped that they were a real depiction of the place. We were not disappointed. The home was lovely and spotless and had everything that you'd ever need to have a wonderful vacation. We had 3 girls who rode the bikes into town every day and played games in the four seasons room on rainy days. We we shopped in Alden and Bellaire and Charlevoix. We went to several good restaurants around the lake. We rented a boat and the girls went tubing and we even got to watch the Tigers on your big screen TV. Everyone was happy because there were so many options. We had all of our meals on the outside deck where we grilled and there was plenty of both sun and shade . Most days there was a nice breeze and, of course, the gorgeous lake to look at. We loved the park like landscaping and the all over beauty and serenity of the place. Everyone gave us a friendly wave as we drove in and out on the street. We ate at Dockside , the Torch Riviera, the Wild Onion , and The Alden Bar. We had giant ice cream cones at the little store in Alden. I also bought a couple of winning lotto tickets there. We replenished our spices from the Spice Mill and bought smoked fresh fish from the smokehouse in Bellaire. The entire week seemed almost magical to us and we would highly reommend it to our friends . We left reluctently with great memories and feeling very relaxed."
