  • Great condo with a great location.

"We absolutely loved this condo with all the offered amenities. It’s housed in Traverse Commons, a destination in itself with much history. It’s a short drive to downtown and the beaches, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown. The pictures online do not do it justice. I’m assuming the owners have a background in art. You could see, what I believe to be their work, throughout the unit. Personal touches everywhere. We had two adults, and a 20 and 17 y/o staying in this unit. There was more than enough room for the four of us. Granted the 20 and 18 y/o took their own blowup beds, but there was enough room on the first floor to accommodate the beds. The second floor had a desk and area for reading and the third floor was utilized as the master bedroom along with master bath. The condo has a nice kitchen, an additional ½ bath on the first floor with a huge outdoor balcony. What more do you need? The owners emailed suggested restaurants, shops, etc. prior to our stay. We wisely went along with their suggestions. Trattoria Stella is housed in the Commons. We highly suggest a meal there. It was simply amazing. A bit pricey, so you may want to go for lunch. There are several restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, etc. on the grounds. I don’t believe you could go wrong with any of them. Would definitely recommend a stay there."

  • Stay here! You won't regret it!

"The was our 2nd year staying at this lovely cottage and it was another wonderful one!!! Great TC weather topped off our great stay at this wonderful, homy cottage!! PROS: -Extremely clean -Extremely well-stocked everything (all the amenities of home and then some!!) -Great location (seems to be 5 minutes from everything; downtown TC, the mall, etc.) -Situated on a fantastic lake (it's warmer than the bays, very clean! -Nice, newer dock (great spot to fish from) -Ample seating outdoors -Patio area is a great spot to eat lunch/dinner with fantastic views of the lake -The deck has 2 nice bistro sets which are great for eating lunch or enjoying morning coffee -The front room is nice and sunny with GREAT views of the lake (large windows) -Furniture is extremely comfortable -The "cabin" room houses the TV, a SUPER long, comfy couch and a game table -a favorite spot to play late night games (there are many games there for both kids and adults) -The downstairs game room is a nice spot for rainy days (ping pong table, foosball table, gaming system for older kids) -Plenty of recreational amenities (tons of life vests, a paddle boat, 2 kayaks, fishing poles) -The bedrooms are spacious and very inviting -Bunk room for the kids is AWESOME (and there's a small bonus room in the bunk room that is fantastic if you have a baby and will be bringing along a pack n' play) -Beach is sandy and ample for kids to play -Swimming area is shallow enough for kids to swim close by shore -Nice floating dock CONS: -To us, the only real drawback of this house might be the landscaping just on the yard facing the lake. This house is absolutely adorable and, while it does not at all effect the functionality of the house, the clearing out of the property that sits on the water (going up both sides of the hill and around the basement area) would make this property so attractive. This is really the only reason we gave this home a 4 out of 5 stars. I wouldn't even really list the landscaping as a "con", but I figured people would think it was too good to be true if there weren't at least one! If you are a family looking for a wonderful vacation spot, this truly is the place for you. Silver Lake is beautiful and, for us, it's a nice break from the traffic of downtown TC. You're close to it all, but far enough away to have a peaceful vacation!!!! Thank you to the owners for another wonderful stay!"

  • Beautiful, Quiet, Peaceful, and Serene

"We loved this cabin and our stay. We brought our 18 month old for the week, and really was just perfect. My husband took advantage of the kayaks and the peaceful lake, we read on the deck while the baby napped, and we spent our evenings grilling and enjoying the peace and quiet. This cabin is just close enough to everything - Sleeping Bear, Traverse City, all of the cute towns and lighthouses, but just far enough away to feel secluded and in nature. It's got all of the amenities needed (a washer and dryer would have been nice, but otherwise, this place has it all). We drove 13 hours for this cabin, and it was well worth it! Highly recommend this home for anyone who wants to be "one with nature" while still enjoying all the comforts of home."

  • Awesome home-away-from-home

"This place was perfect for us. We walked downtown and swam at the beach across the street. My husband is an earlier riser than the rest of us, so he snuck out in the morning and went next door for coffee at McDonalds. There were 6 of us and we all slept comfortably. We get to TC at least once a year and this will be our new home away from home."

Traverse City Travel Tips

Experience a Rejuvenating Return to Nature at Traverse City Vacation Rentals

Traverse City is the definitive "Up North" experience for Michigan! If you want beaches, forest trails, great shopping, and fantastic restaurants, they're all within your reach. There's lots of Traverse City lodging available for your vacation. With just the click of a button, you could be spending your next summer getaway at one of the many Northwest Michigan lake houses available in Traverse City.

Redefine Comfort with a Traverse City Vacation Home

Staying at tacky, overpriced hotels while vacationing is a bad habit that needs to be stopped immediately. You'll understand why the minute you step foot in a vacation home. Instead of cramped, homes are spacious and expansive, giving you and your family all the room you need to stretch out. Instead of waiting for your turn to use the shower, you can enjoy multiple bathrooms, in addition to multiple bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and whatever your heart desires. Instead of eating whatever the continental breakfast or nearby drive-thru has to offer, cook your own meals from the comfort of your very own kitchen. And instead of retreating to the balcony—if your hotel even has one—you could enjoy a backyard with a lake.

The Best of Northern Michigan

Traverse City strikes the perfect balance between large town and quiet summer getaway. There's plenty to do here including hiking though the beautiful forests, boating on Lake Michigan, or enjoying any of the multiple beaches in the area. Go on an adventurous stroll through the rolling Sleeping Bear Dunes, check out some local brews at a microbrewery, and enjoy all the fine dining and shopping this fantastic town has to offer.
