  • Very nice

"My family stayed for 2 weeks and really enjoyed the unit. Very comfortable and a nice homey feel. We had 4 adults and 1 two year old and it worked perfectly. Owners were very helpful."

  • "Two Thumbs up!"

"We stayed at the Blue House the week of Halloween. The neighborhood is delightfully quaint and the house is clean, spacious and lots of fun. There were lots of things to do and see like the pumpkin drop, carving, and tossing pumpkins. We enjoyed the beaches and bike trails, and what a great downtown! Would definitely stay there again..."

  • Great spot for nature lovers and their hyper dogs!

"My husband and I (early 30’s) weren't sure as we pulled in (the treehouse is a guest house over the garage, with the owners living about 200 feet away). Was this the beginning of a horror movie? Turn out, our stay turned out to be absolutely wonderful. Tom and Kathy have the perfect personalities for making you feel comfortable and at home, and we couldn’t have had a better location for enjoying all at the Leelanau Peninsula has to offer. Other than this rental and rustic camping up at the state park, there really are no other lodging options in the area, and we got full access to incredible beaches and hiking trails with virtually NO crowds. We felt like staying at the treehouse was a unique take on deluxe camping – an awesome deck with bird watching and star gazing, but with the comfort of a fantastic king-size bed and a kitchen stocked with tin foil, olive oil, coffee, the works. Most importantly, this place is AMAZING if you have an energetic dog who loves to explore woods. With the gated deck and acres and acres of property, you couldn’t ask for a place to stay with a dog. We walked her (off-leash) around their property when she wasn’t already exhausted from hiking through sand dunes or cruising the downtowns of Northport and Sutton’s Bay, and it was ideal to say the least. (Usually getaways are a special treat for the humans, but this place is also a glorious vacation for a well-behaved dog with extra energy!) Bottom line: Diamond in the rough. This place is high-demand due to repeat visitors, so book early (like, 8-10 months in advance) and it’ll be worth your while. As long as you are prepared for semi-rustic (even change your own sheets afterwards in lieu of a cleaning fee if you want) and willing to sacrifice a little privacy in having Tom and Kathy and their Jack-Russell terrier close by, it really is a great gig. Nothing like it (or even close) in the area!"

  • Enjoyable stay with family

"We enjoyed our stay in the condo. The pictures are accurate. Our only complaint is that the appliances are really out-dated....at least 20 years old, perhaps more. The dryer took 2-3 hours to dry a load of laundry. When we mentioned it to the owner she said that she knew that. One of our main reasons for staying in a home vs a hotel is that I can do laundry and cook for 6 people....pretty hard to do without good appliances."
