"Great place for a family reunion! Cottage was warm and inviting , with a fantastic kitchen to cook and host family dinners. Porch and garden areas were just as inviting in person as they were depicted on website. Had a great week, with much to see and do. Petoskey is a great town to visit for shopping /eating especially their Thai restaurant , Thai Orchid Cuisine on Mitchell St. Will stay there again!!"

  • Lovely place!

"Very clean cabin with lots of room for our young boys to play basketball, ride bikes, play baseball and walk the trails connected to property. We enjoyed the area during the day and loved coming back to the cabin at night to unwind."

  • AWESOME VACATION HOUSE!!!

"Cannot fully express how much we enjoyed staying at this house. Extremely clean, comfortable and well supplied!! Plenty of room for all of us to spread out. The garage door has a screen on it so it can be opened and you can hang out in the garage which is also carpeted and fully furnished with possibly the most comfortable recliner I have ever sat in!!! Loved sitting out there at night with a nice breeze coming in, but no mosquitos. The yard is very large with fire pit. There are plenty of chairs for outside and even a horseshoe pit. Inside, the beds were all very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and there is even a washer and dryer. Loved it so much, we want to come back next year for 2 weeks hopefully!!! I have travelled quite a bit and stayed in several vacation rentals, this is by far one of the best. Additionally, the owner, Thomas, is very friendly, helpful and easy to work with. Thank you Thomas for offering this amazing vacation rental at such an excellent price, we hope to come back often!!!"

  • Great house, great location, great time

"Had a great time at this house over Labor Day weekend. The house was very accommodating and across the street from the picturesque Boyne River. With downtown Boyne City a two minute walk away, this was an ideal place to spend a weekend in northern Michigan. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to spend some time Up North!"

If you don't have your own boat, there are many rental companies that you can hire one from. Kayaks are also available and a great way to explore the lake shores. Fishing tackle shops can be found in abundance and in season, you could even enter a fishing competition and see if you can land the "big one." There are many hiking trails, mountain biking trails and horse riding trails that can be explored independently or with a guide. Trails through the state forests provide an opportunity to watch birds and wildlife along the way. There are picnic sites and special nature reserves that are interesting to visit. There are literally miles of trails through various preserves ranging in difficulty from beginner to more advanced. Many areas also have trails for snowshoeing and routes for snowmobiling. One of the most impressive trails is the 88-mile route between Cadillac and Belmont. The majority of the trail runs through the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Park over varying terrain and is a challenging run. The town of Gaylord is well-known for its Olympic quality ski runs. Dog sledding is another popular pastime and commercial tours can be booked through local resorts.
