  • A place to slow down and decompress

"The minute I walked into this lovely vintage cottage I was in love. I felt the stress just melt away as it seemed like we walked into a slower quieter time. We've rented many a cottages through the years and were usually disappointed by tacky decor and an overall junky look. In this one each piece of furniture and artwork seemed well-loved and purposeful to provide an overall comfortable and stylish atmosphere. My favorite spot was the comfy wicker chaise on the upstairs screened in porch overlooking the water. Each evening we played Scrabble at the country table on the downstairs screened-in porch to the sound of records on the vintage record player. Even on a Sunday in July the lake was peaceful with only a few boats on the water. My husband and son had a great time reeling in bass and snorkeling around the lake. The surrounding area has so much to offer. I took long walks along the country roads and picked gorgeous bouquets of wildflowers. Two darling victorian-like towns are nearby for shopping and lunch, Chelsea and Stockbridge. And the Potawatami Trail is great for hiking. If you want to get away from stress I would definitely recommend this place."

  • Cozy cottage on the lake

"Wonderful cozy cottage right on the lake and we enjoyed the lake view and the area surrounding the cottage. The owner was very responsive, especially when we had some hiccups with the shower and internet service. One disappointment was that the coffee pot quit on us about halfway through our stay but we managed to still make coffee on the stove. The location was definitely out in the country but we enjoyed our stay and having family from nearby areas to visit us for the day. We even had a bit of successful fishing and used the fire pit with wood generously supplied by one of our neighbors. We enjoyed the use of the BBQ and the ability to cook most of our meals with a good stock of kitchen utensils, etc. The bed was very comfortable and the BR was uniquely cozy but worked well for us and our dog, Shorty."

  • Very nice retreat!

"Our family was lucky enough to find this lovely cottage while we were in the area for a relative's graduation party, making for a nice mini-vacation. We had a delightful time, and Lisa helped make our stay extra special by offering to take us for a ride on her pontoon boat on Vineyard Lake. The lake was very relaxing and the weather was perfect, and we loved watching the sunsets from the dock every night. My son and I also had a great time exploring the lake by kayak. Our kids (ages 15 and 17) loved the loft area in the cottage, and we enjoyed eating dinner at the patio table in the immaculate and beautifully landscaped back yard. The cottage was well-stocked with amenities, and there were lots of movies and games to keep busy with. Lisa was very knowledgeable and helpful about steering us to the best places and restaurants to visit in the area. She really helped make it a perfect little vacation!"

  • Great place!

"This home met and exceeded all our expectations for our family gathering. The large kitchen, dining and deck area accommodated our group of 16 easily. The house was well stocked with all the supplies and amenities that we needed plus many extras for lake fun. We will definitely be back again."

Detroit Travel Tips

Detroit Vacation Rentals Are a Better Choice Than Booking a Hotel Room

You know that you want to plan a vacation in beautiful Detroit. What you may not yet be certain of is what form of Detroit lodging you would like to book. The hotels of Detroit are similar to those you'll find in most major cities. They're noisy and expensive. Luckily, there's another option. Detroit vacation rentals offer nearly complete privacy. As you rent an entire home, you will find that your accommodations do not simply equal what luxury hotels offer. They beat them. Balconies with beautiful views, historic architecture, and extra amenities are just a few of the reasons travelers choose Michigan house rentals.

Get to Know Detroit With Michigan House Rentals

Found in all the prime locations, such as the sport and theater district, these beautiful Michigan house rentals offer not only privacy and luxury, but a more affordable price than local hotels – especially when staying for longer periods of time. With all that you can do while staying in Detroit vacation rentals, a longer period of time is almost mandatory!

Discover Detroit Lodging That Will Make Your Vacation Perfect

As the largest city in Michigan, Detriot is an amazing place to vacation. Filled with possible activities and sites to see, Detroit cannot be discovered in a day. Car lovers will enjoy the city's historic areas and museums, including the Motown Historical Museum.
