  • Great home away from it all

"This property was exactly what our family was looking for - a quiet, secluded house within a short walk/drive from the beach. In fact, the pictures don't do this house justice. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in a saw how much space we had for both of our families (four adults, four kids). The screened porch was a bonus - we ate every meal out there. And the fire pit was perfect for s'mores and some relaxing when the kids went to bed. Then owners provided so many great amenities - a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, games for the kids, beach chairs/umbrella, and the list goes on. Unlike the previous house we rented, we didn't feel like we constantly had to walk around the house with shoes on . . . sand was never tracked into the main living part of the house because there was a hose outside that everyone got sprayed with when we returned from the beach. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by two deer in the backyard, and they also showed up to tell us goodbye on our last night - it was a sure sign that we had picked the right property for our vacation. Thanks for the hospitality!"

  • Fun Family Vacation

"Our Family very much enjoyed out stay at the Sandbox. It is a very clean and well kept house. We enjoyed the wrap around deck, fire pit and of course the dune. It is a bit steep but well worth the effort to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan. We would recommend this property for anyone looking for a quite retreat or fun with kids."

Inside the same, wonderful kitchen + eat-in area and family room open space with a fireplace....... in addition to a great master suite...... a library, dining room and living room...... the owner is even providing crocs of all sizes to use outside when going to the hot tub...... and I have not even mentioned the fire pit with plenty of Adirondack chairs for an evening around the fire and smore's...... the basement with a pool table and pingpong table..... the upstairs with 3 great bedrooms and a bathroom..... and even a laundry room with detergent provided...... I cannot compliment enough Jayne who takes care of the house and was available to answer all of our questions as well as the owner Rick....... Southwest Travel Tips

Southwest Michigan covers the counties of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren along the shores of Lake Michigan. This may not be the first place that springs to mind for finding sugar- sand beaches but this area does have some beautiful bays. It also produces some fine wines and fresh vegetables. During the winter, it is a fun place for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer, swap your ski poles for your golf clubs and enjoy some of the championship golf courses in the area. Those who enjoy a slower pace of life and local history will appreciate the museums and antique shops which can be browsed in this scenic area.
