  • South Haven Beach Home

"We had a nice stay in South Haven in July 2014! This home is 4 1/2 blocks to the beach, close to Kid's Corner park, and walking distance to town (5 blocks or so). It has a very nice deck and fenced back yard. As previously mentioned, it is not the cleanest place you will find. We always bring cleaning supplies with us, but there are cobwebs and signs of neglect. It seems as though the cleaning fee goes towards someone cleaning bathrooms, dusting, and sweeping floors. It's not terrible, though. The furniture is a bit worn, which shows the popularity of this rental. The owner is very nice and available when you call. As the previous review mentioned, there are no bikes, and the wagon had a large crack in it, so we didn't chance it. We also brought our own sheets and just changed the beds when we arrived, then changed them back when we left. This saved washing time (thanks to the previous reviewer!). It was nice to have the laundry facilities available, too! You can't beat the South Haven beaches - just beautiful! We love this town!"

  • Wedding

"Our daughter got married in Saugatuck and needed a home big enough, for our family. There were 12 of us, ranging in age, from 90 to 18 months. The house worked great with 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, and bedroom and bath in the basement. The kids loved the very short walk to the lake and beach."

  • Great place to spend time with family!

"We spent a fabulous week on the lake! We had 2 families with kids (age 11-14). The house was clean and had plenty of room for everyone. The listing was accurate and owners were very helpful and friendly. The large deck had more than enough space to socialize, the waterfront area was wonderful, there was a fire pit on the property and a woods where you can find plenty of wood to burn, there's lots of yard space to play lawn games (all available at the house), there's 2 kayaks, a rowboat and a canoe available to use, and the downstairs pool table and dart board were a big hit. We rented a boat (and a stand-up paddle board) and had it delivered--the lake is quite small, but just big enough to pull the kids on the tube. Also, because the lake is small and not busy, we were very comfortable letting the kids explore in the kayaks--as long as they had lifejackets! There is really something for everyone at this lakehouse--highly recommend!"

  • Nice little cottage

"I went to this cottage with a group of 13 adults. We had a really great time! No big complaints. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and hang out comfortably. We were able to cook several meals and we had almost all of the kitchen supplies we needed. We had a great time sitting by the fire and we were really glad that there were plenty of chairs for us to use. We also had fun using the paddle boat. Make sure you bring your own water and the water is from a well and has a funny smell. Overall we had a really great time and would definitely stay again!"

Southwest Travel Tips

Southwest Michigan covers the counties of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren along the shores of Lake Michigan. This may not be the first place that springs to mind for finding sugar- sand beaches but this area does have some beautiful bays. It also produces some fine wines and fresh vegetables. During the winter, it is a fun place for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer, swap your ski poles for your golf clubs and enjoy some of the championship golf courses in the area.
