"This place is unbelievable. Everything about it is beautiful and simply perfect. It is exquisitely maintained with many small comforts. What is especially nice is the beach and the elaborate deck in the back, with hammocks and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows in the evening."

"We wanted a nice spacious place for our family thanksgiving weekend. We found this gem. Nick was so attentive and accommodating. We had more than enough room for our family. The property is beautiful and a few steps from the lake, although it was cold we were able to go to the lake for pictures on our last day when it was in the 40's."

"My sisters and I stayed at the Hunting Lodge at Antebellum Estate. We were very impressed with both the accommodations and the property. The kitchen was fully equipped...we didn't need the paper towels, dish soap, or dish towels we brought. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens and extra blankets; and the bathrooms had hotel quality towels. The Hunting Lodge was nicely decorated and clean.
Across the driveway, the owners have an area where 2 young goats and an alpaca are kept. We enjoyed petting them through the enclosed fence. Next to this area, we found a peacock and a unique breed of roosters who entertained us as they strutted around their enclosure.
The back of the property is just beautiful. We were told the lake had fish; so we brought fishing poles and bait. We had fun catching bluegills and bass and releasing them for another day. There is an open roofed area near lake where we sat and enjoyed a glass of wine just absorbing the beauty before us.
The owners had plentiful brochures on hand of the Coloma and St. Joseph area.
We had a nice dinner at The Friendly Tavern in Coloma. St. Joseph is only 10 minutes away; and has a lot to offer. The wine tasting at 12 Corners Vineyard was fun...one of the best vineyards I had encountered over the years.
All in all, the weekend was perfect. We definitely would return; and are considering a week stay next summer."

"What a treasure to stay at Sweethaven Resort! My family of four and our little dog enjoyed our stay immensely. The Cardinal Cottage was comfortable and very clean, and we loved being able to sit and watch the kids play in the common area. There are bikes and wagons available if you'd like to stroll downtown, as well as a fire pit and barbecue. The grounds were immaculate, with moss-covered trails through the woods behind the property. We had a nice family weekend to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful area."
