Relaxing and nice accommodations. Short walk to beach.
"We were looking for peace and quiet for our vacation and found it in this home and it's location. The house was well equipped and clean. The neighborhood is quiet and with plenty of trees. We sat on the deck for all meals, perfect for us city-dwellers. The beach and a nice park are short walks away. The rental process was easy and Debra was a pleasure to work with. Quick response time. We wouldn't hesitate to book this house again in the future. Enjoy your time!"

"We enjoyed our stay in this cozy condo. The weather was too chilly to enjoy the clean pool, but the hot tub was nice. We would definitely stay there again. Only quirky things were the coffee pot didn't work very well and the ice maker on the frig wasn't working. The location in Douglas was perfect for our stay."

"The Sandcastle is truly a wonderland with beautiful art and antiques inside and out. We stayed there for a long weekend with a group of 12 and the accommodations were perfect. My children, 2 and 5 years old, were in awe with all of the colors and trinkets throughout the house and various areas to play outside (climbing structure, see-saw, basketball court, swings). It was a vacation they will never forget. The adults, too, had an unforgettable weekend of exploring the house/grounds and pizza making in the wood burning pizza oven. Wendy was a gracious host and even got the pizza oven started for us while we explored the town so it would be ready for us upon our return.
The guys were there for a track event at Gingerman and the Sandcastle was a short drive (15-20 min) to the track. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, serving dishes, spices etc. so you have all you need to prepare your own meals, if you so desire.
I would highly recommend the Sandcastle for anyone looking for a unique experience in South Haven. The house is directly on the lake so don't forget the bug spray! Each night we gathered on the deck to watch the beautiful sunset. We will be back for sure. Also, don't forget to check out Wendy's books. We left with several signed copies as mementos of our stay.
