  • Couple Weekend Getaway..with the pups!

"My husband and I decided we needed to get out of IL for a weekend, but we hate boarding up our two dogs. We ended up going with another couple who also had a puppy and it was the best thing! There is so much space for the dogs to run around. We enjoyed our stay as well! The house was very clean and all the lights were on when we got there, just in case we did get there in the dark we could see where we are going. It is in a great location if you want to have the private feeling. The hot tub was definitely a hit. Only thing is that that when we showered there was no hot water, HOWEVER that is due to us not turning on the hot water heater! The place is great and I highly recommend it! Downtown Saugatuck actually had a small music fest, so that was nice to go see! During the day there is plenty to do as well..and it is only a short drive to town! We are currently trying to figure out our next VRBO trip :) Thanks for a great first experience Roxanne!"

  • Great family vacation

"We had 11 people (6 adults and 5 kids aged 18 mos to 7 years) stay in the house for a week in August. We had a great time and would recommend it to large families. The kitchen amenities, family entertainment (tv) and patio furniture were all great. Thanks."

  • Wonderful Vacation!

"My sisters and I rented this house for the 4th of July week. There were 6 of us coming from Alabama and Georgia. We have family all over Michigan, so we just sort of said, here we are, come visit if you're able. The house was very artsy and unique. Every time you entered a room, there was something you hadn't noticed before to examine. I would hate to have to dust it, but I don't. It was clean and well supplied. Plenty of room, even with overnight guests. The beach was beautiful, the water a bit cold for us southerners. Our visitors enjoyed it, however! The AC worked well, when we needed it, but mostly, we slept with our windows open. Except when it stormed. The storms were at night, so they didn't impede our time visiting South Haven and Saugatuck. Great towns. Wonderful restaurants. Grocery stores and drug stores within a few miles. Walking the beach was fantastic, but the stairs to the beach were an adventure. Fire works easily seen from our beach and from some windows. Fireworks at 3 a.m. July 4, were not appreciated. That had nothing to do with the house. we cooked a few meals in the large kitchen and used the grill. Plenty of seating and dishes and flatware. Everything was pretty awesome! The swing set, teeter totter and the giant chess set were great for our toddler visitor and adults. The sunsets were better than magnificent! The owners were very easy to work with. Would definitely do this again!"

  • Wonderful!

"My family met up for a week's vacation at this home and had the best time. We are spread all over the US and we try to get together once a year to rent a house and spend a week together. This is the 7th or 8th time we have done this and everyone agreed that this was the best getaway yet. We had 7 people in our group (72, 69, 45, 44, 42, 21 and 4) and one boxer dog (3). Everyone loved this house! The things that we look for when renting a house were more than covered for the interior: the great room (kitchen, living, dining) had more than enough space for everyone to be together yet not feel crowded, the furniture throughout was comfortable and inviting, we cooked in every night and found EVERYTHING we needed in the kitchen, the bathrooms were spacious and modern, and the bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds. We all felt that one of the best parts about the interior of the house was how much it connected you to the outside. The walls of windows and doors made you feel like you were outside all the time, which was perfect because we loved the outside. There were so many areas to explore between the screened back porch, the large deck just off the great room, the fire pit at the back of the property, the really large yard, the balcony off the master bedroom, etc., that it was easy to find your own space, which can sometimes be important during these trips. There were plenty of chairs and tables wherever you went. The 4 year old in our group loved the space to run indoors or out and to explore for bugs and stuff in the yard, but his favorite part was the train. They didn't come by often but, when they did, he would yell TRAIN! at the top of his lungs as he made a mad dash to the front porch to see it every time it went by. (FYI, I think we saw 3 trains max per day and, other than being a joy to the toddler, it did not impact our vacation one bit. We never heard the train at night.) The walk to the private beach was easy and we made the walk several times. We also spent one day up at Warren Dunes, which was about a 10 minute drive. We would recommend both highly. Marjolein and Scott were wonderful to work with. You can tell they poured a lot of themselves into the home and we really felt honored that they shared it with us. We would go back in a second and can't recommend it enough."
