  • Long weekend getaway

"Stayed for Memorial Day weekend, had a great time, enjoyed all meals on the deck overlooking the lake, spent the afternoons playing bags and kayaking on the lake. Would recommend to anyone. Can't wait to go back."

  • Great for families with school aged children

"We arrived on a Saturday afternoon to a quaint cottage set back in the woods and were welcomed by a bottle of wine. The kids could not wait to go to the beach and they did great on the stairs going to and from the cottage. It was the parents that had a challenge the first few times but got better and boy did we feel better about eating tons of food because we worked it all off. It was a wake up call to how out of shape we were. But once you got to the bottom and to the beach, it was worth every step. I can not out it into words the view and sandbars. We stayed for hours and were surprised to see the owner come by sea in her kayak from down the beach. What a lovely lady Miss Judy is and we thoroughly enjoyed her cottage. The other plus was the outdoor shower that looks recently new. We loved it and the kids want one at home. If you rent this property you will not be disappointed. It might pose a challenge if you have infants with going up and down but if you have a backpack - carrier then you would be fine esp. If you enjoy a small hike of maybe 5 minutes tops. If you do rent this cabin, go straight out from the path into the water wade out to about chest level and feel around for 2 huge rocks that our kids named Big Betsy and Little Betsy. You can stand on them and it will put you out of the water to below your waist."

  • Great long weekend trip to South Haven!

"We had a fabulous trip to South Haven last weekend and Michiana really was the perfect location--just a few blocks to the Lake, the marina and the city center. Can't wait to come back with friends and stay at Michiana again! We stayed in and cooked one night-the kitchen had everything that we needed. Really appreciated how clean the unit was upon arrival and LOVED the renovated bathroom and porch."

  • Antebellum Estate....Heaven on Earth

"My sisters and I stayed at the Hunting Lodge at Antebellum Estate. We were very impressed with both the accommodations and the property. The kitchen was fully equipped...we didn't need the paper towels, dish soap, or dish towels we brought. The beds were very comfortable with nice linens and extra blankets; and the bathrooms had hotel quality towels. The Hunting Lodge was nicely decorated and clean. Across the driveway, the owners have an area where 2 young goats and an alpaca are kept. We enjoyed petting them through the enclosed fence. Next to this area, we found a peacock and a unique breed of roosters who entertained us as they strutted around their enclosure. The back of the property is just beautiful. We were told the lake had fish; so we brought fishing poles and bait. We had fun catching bluegills and bass and releasing them for another day. There is an open roofed area near lake where we sat and enjoyed a glass of wine just absorbing the beauty before us. The owners had plentiful brochures on hand of the Coloma and St. Joseph area. We had a nice dinner at The Friendly Tavern in Coloma. St. Joseph is only 10 minutes away; and has a lot to offer. The wine tasting at 12 Corners Vineyard was fun...one of the best vineyards I had encountered over the years. All in all, the weekend was perfect. We definitely would return; and are considering a week stay next summer."
