  • Perfect vacation spot

"Helmer House was perfect for us as a girlfriends getaway weekend in November. I would take my family back for a vacation as well. Close to shops and eating ~ walkable or drivable. Oval beach is close by ~ we have a child with disabilities so it is safe & easy for her. She can navigate stairs but there is a ramp built down to the water on Oval beach. Awesome renting experience from caring people who take great care of the house. Clean. Like you never left home."

  • Perfect Retreat

"This was an excellent location for a family vacation. The home is even better than the pictures (and the pictures are pretty good). You have lake views from nearly every window which is fantastic. The layout on the main floor is perfect--TV away from the dining area and family area. The downstairs is perfect for kids. We have stayed in several homes for family trips in Michigan. This was our favorite. The owner is also incredibly helpful and responsive which is a huge bonus."

  • Great getaway in Union Pier

"This was a great cottage in Union Pier. It was super clean and perfect for us (4 adults - 2 kids). What I liked: - Only a block or two from the beach - An older house, but it was completely remodeled so it was modern and upscale - There was a fantastic bakery around the corner (next to the red arrow restaurant) that we biked too everyday - great coffee! - We liked the Cape Cod style decor and furnishings inside - it was really comfortable - the photos do a good job of showing you what you get - It was all one level so no one had to do stairs Things I didn't like: - Nothing really - I would highly recommend this to anyone. - I will say that the hot water heater broke one morning which had the potential to be a problem. I placed a call to the owner and he had a repairman out in 15 minutes (wow!) (granted it was a bit of luck as the repairman just happened to be blocks away when he got the call). The owner was incredibly responsive and he told me several times he was going to do whatever it took to make sure everything turned out alright. All in all, I would recommend to anyone because it had all the things I look for - great location, great house, great owner who wanted my stay to go well."

  • Relax on the beach

"My husband and I had a wonderful weeks stay. We spent time on the beach, enjoyed and evening fire, ate dinner looking at the lake while live music played next door, and just relaxed! We hope to make it back again next year, and would highly recommend it."
