  • Wonderful Stay

"We really enjoyed our week at this cottage. The owner, Wendy, was great! The area is very rural but quaint and charming. There are many wineries within 30 minutes that were very fun to explore. We had a lot of fun on Clear Lake. It’s only about 10 minutes to drive around the lake to Fuller’s Campground where there is a larger beach and swimming area that my kids preferred. We also rented a pontoon boat for a few hours for a reasonable price at the campground (they have good ice cream too). We went to the beach at Warren Dunes several times – about 30 minutes away. We also visited the town of St. Joseph’s multiple times which was about 45 minutes – very cute beach town. We loved the screened in porch – my 11 year old son even slept out here a few nights. The Weber grill was great and very easy to use. The TVs all have Netflix – which my kids loved. The firepit in the back was a lot of fun too. The stars at night are absolutely amazing here. The cottage in the back for the kids was really cute. It was really great being able to bring our dog – she had a blast! Do make sure you bring a lot of bug spray! We will definitely be visiting again."

  • Perfect place for little ones

"Tom, We just returned home from our vacation yesterday afternoon, 6/27. After we left “The White House” as one of my grandsons called it we went on to Schaumburg for horse racing and Ikea. I just want you to know that your “White House” was the perfect place for our family and everyone enjoyed it so much. With five little ones the layout of the house was great, one family made their headquarters the bedroom off the deck, the family with the twins took the master bedroom and it had plenty of room even with two pack n plays! My husband and I were in the cute turquoise room. We really enjoyed the lovely screened in porch, great for card games and kids playing with bubbles. The deck was a big hit for a family water balloon fight! I hope we got all the balloon pieces picked out of the yard! However the “best thing” was the lovely park across the street, the kids just loved it and they used the ball field for practice and the walking paths were used everyday. A family walk to Redamaks was perfect and on a trip to McDonalds one evening we saw a deer right down the street from the house. We did not even use the dishwasher as we brought a lot of paper products to use, so that was not a problem at all. The washer and dryer was a great plus too. Everything we wanted to do was so close. Thank you so much!!"

  • Fun cottage and great vacation spot

"We were pleasantly surprised to find Fishbone Cottage and New Buffalo to be much more than expected. The cottage was larger than the pictures show and beautifully decorated and very clean, with lots of fun touches. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning units, one in the main living rom and one in the master bedroom at the rear of the house, provided plenty of cooling for the entire house. The deck and back yard were great for our dog and to use Fishbone's bocce ball and croquet sets. The kitchen was well-equipped. We used the 2 adult bikes provided to go to town and to the nearby park. Downtown New Buffalo is a short walk from the cottage. There are several restaurants, ice cream shops, retail stores, a grocery, and pharmacy. The public beach is just beyond the center of downtown accessible by bike/car or a 10-15 minute walk. We took short trips to neighboring towns for antiquing; nearby Galien River for fishing and kayaking; Captain Mike's fun park for miniature golf, go karts, and batting cages; and to Warren Dunes and Grand Mere beach parks for great hikes through the magnificent dunes. All around we had a great time with lots to do and would highly recommend Fishbone."

  • Loved this house

"Each summer, my brothers and I join our spouses and kids for a family get-away, and this house by far was the best we've ever rented. The layout of the house lends itself to a lot of together-time, but also provides a great deal of privacy for intimate chats, reading a book or putting kids to bed upstairs or downstairs in a way that adults can still enjoy each other's company. All of the rooms are decorated tastefully, creatively and with high-quality furniture, but not so much so that you don't feel at ease. The house was also immaculately clean, which is so important to us. Furthermore, it was a five-minute walk around the corner to the public beach, which was nice because the distance shielded us from the noise, and just a short, picturesque jaunt into town. We will most definitely stay here again if South Haven is our vacation area of choice. Thanks, Andrea."
