  • Lovely Vintage Beach Cottage

"I've stayed at Annie's Cottage 3 times in the past year. Most recently for a week in July. I've already made plans to come back for a weekend this Fall and a week next summer! I first stayed here in July 2012 and chose the cottage based on its location and price. Trust me when I tell you that a better deal cannot be found, I’ve looked all the way from Michiana to St. Joe. The cottage is the perfect size for a small group. Last year it was my family of 5 for a week and most recently I stayed with 3 of my girlfriends. It’s clean, has all the linens and bath towels you would need. The shower is a bit small, which was only a slight issue for my Dad and brother who are both over 6ft tall. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and we greatly appreciated the bottle of wine Annie left for us! It can get hot if there is no breeze, but if you leave the air conditioner and ceiling fans on during hot nights it will cool down. The neighborhood is quiet and not at all crowded. The walk to the beach path and stairs only takes a minute or two. The climb back up those stairs can be tiresome, but after a few times it gets easy. In the 3 times I’ve stayed here I’ve never thought the beach was crowded. On the weekends there might be 4 or 5 families spread out and the beach for this association is quite large. On weekdays we are usually the only ones on the beach. Plus there is a public beach only a minute away that we use before and after we check in and out of the cottage. There is a fee to drive into the Warren Dunes if you prefer to use that beach. Another bonus, the cottage is down the street from the Swedish Bakery (open Fri-Mon at 7am!) which makes the best Danishes I’ve ever had. It’s about 20 minutes to Meijer’s in Stevensville and 15 minutes by the Red Arrow Highway to New Buffalo. On the most recent stay we drove back to Chicago for a Monday night concert at Soldier Field and it only took an hour each way. I love this little beach cottage and can’t wait to go back!"

  • Great vacation rental!

"I stayed at Cherry Beach Cottage for a week in August with my teenage son and my 80-year old mother. My son was thrilled with having Wifi, and my mother enjoyed how close we were to such a beautiful beach. The cottage is spacious, and the living room has a sliding door, so it was like having a third bedroom. The hot tub was wonderful for the cool evenings we had, and the kitchen was completely equipped for cooking. In fact, this was the best equipped cottage of any rental we have stayed in over the last 15 years...I even found a replacement light bulb when I needed one. The cottage is close to the popular Swedish Bakery in Harbert, as well as Capozio's Pizza. We also love the Casual Chef Cafe and Noni's in Union Pier. Highly recommended!"

  • Great vacation home for the entire family!

"We were very excited to find this wonderful home in SW Michigan. Our family has visited this area for many years and were fortunate to be able to stay in such a well appointed, convenient and spacious home. The owner was very accomodating and responsive to all of our questions about the property prior to arrival and we were greated by his friendly and informative property manager. There were so many things to enjoy in the home and on property. The kitchen was very well supplied with dishes, glasses, serving plates & bowls and plenty of pots and pans. Loved the large gas grill located on the deck just off the kitchen. The bedrooms were all good size and the living areas were separate enough to enjoy some alone time, but large enough to accomodate our entire group if we all wanted to be together. The property surrounding the home was just as enjoyable. The pool which had plenty of seating and deck space was a crowd favorite as well as the fully stocked pond where many hours were spent fishing. We all enjoyed hiking around the property on the trail through the woods and the kids enjoyed biking through as well! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home. We can't wait to go back next year!"
