  • Wonderful Vacation!

"My sisters and I rented this house for the 4th of July week. There were 6 of us coming from Alabama and Georgia. We have family all over Michigan, so we just sort of said, here we are, come visit if you're able. The house was very artsy and unique. Every time you entered a room, there was something you hadn't noticed before to examine. I would hate to have to dust it, but I don't. It was clean and well supplied. Plenty of room, even with overnight guests. The beach was beautiful, the water a bit cold for us southerners. Our visitors enjoyed it, however! The AC worked well, when we needed it, but mostly, we slept with our windows open. Except when it stormed. The storms were at night, so they didn't impede our time visiting South Haven and Saugatuck. Great towns. Wonderful restaurants. Grocery stores and drug stores within a few miles. Walking the beach was fantastic, but the stairs to the beach were an adventure. Fire works easily seen from our beach and from some windows. Fireworks at 3 a.m. July 4, were not appreciated. That had nothing to do with the house. we cooked a few meals in the large kitchen and used the grill. Plenty of seating and dishes and flatware. Everything was pretty awesome! The swing set, teeter totter and the giant chess set were great for our toddler visitor and adults. The sunsets were better than magnificent! The owners were very easy to work with. Would definitely do this again!"

  • The Perfect Retreat for Long Time Friends

"Cherry Street Retreat was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy South Haven. The house is much larger than we expected. The 6 of us slept well in the comfortable beds and appreciated the clean, updated bathrooms. The kitchen was very spacious with plenty of room for several cooks at once. We enjoyed chatting with coffee in the sun room and a cocktail in the cozy living room. The owner is a lovely person who goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. It really couldn't have a been a better place to stay. I highly recommend it."

  • A Perfect Weekend

"Our group spend a wonderful weekend at Karen's beautiful house. It was a PERFECT place to have a reunion of our MSU friends. (some of whom hadn't seen each other in 27 years) Lots of room to spread out and relive old memories and make new ones. We truly felt like this was a home and it had absolutely EVERYTHING we could possibly need. Super clean and decorated beautifully! My only regret was that it was too cold to enjoy the front porch. It looked so inviting but as we were having snow flurries so we stayed snuggled inside! One of our group had mobility issues and the downstairs bedroom and bath worked out perfectly for her. It is a pleasant quick walk to town which we enjoyed very much. Karen was very accommodating and answered all of my questions and emails very promptly. I would highly recommend this beautiful home. We are thinking of making our visit here an annual event!!"

  • Great Memorial Day weekend

"Rented both cottages for a party of five adults and a young child. Really lovely, just as described. Bathrooms could use a little updating but otherwise quite nice, and a very quick walk to the private beach. Also easy walk to Blue Plate Cafe for breakfast or lunch, and short drive to wineries, parks, antiques and more. Highly recommend. NOTE: if you are only renting one cottage try for the blue one. There was a boisterous large family next to the yellow cottage, where the pool and deck are VERY close to the cottage. A little noisy at times."
