"We stayed at this condo for a girls' weekend in late July. I agree with the previous reviewers, the condo itself was fantastic and the pictures do not do it justice. It slept the 5 of us with tons of space (2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, and 2 pull out couches) and could easily have slept 8-10. The kitchen was fully stocked and clean. Plenty of space to hang out- the pool was right outside the back porch.
However, I disagree about the location. It is NOT a short walk to town- in fact, we didn't even attempt it. And it is not even remotely walking distance to the beach, especially not carrying a bunch of stuff.
We were pretty disappointed with the town of New Buffalo. There were like 3 restaurants and ice cream shops and not much else in town. It was missing the resort town feeling that we expected.
The owner overall was ok to deal with. However, she was not responsive to e-mail and I had to call her to get all my questions answered. It would have been nice if there was a "welcome to town" list or folder. We honestly didn't even know where the beach was or what restaurants were good or anything. While I realize this was not a hotel with a concierge, for what we paid, a little direction would have been nice.
Overall, if New Buffalo is your destination regardless and you are willing to drive everywhere, I would recommend the property."

"We met our friends for ohio at Summerset. We didn't really know what to expect as it was our first time renting a home to stay in. To say the least it was way above our expectations. In three days we didn't see another person while on the property. It was unbelievably secluded and beautiful! We woke up everyday and sat on the porch while drinking coffee and OJ. We had bonfires at night and all slept extremely hard in the cozy bedroom and spacious loft. We brought our two dogs and they ran the property all three days. It was so good for them to just be free. When they weren't running around the ponds they were sleeping on the porch. They couldn't have been more content. Jim and Deb were great from start to finish. Very professional and easy to work with. We will be renting every year for as long as this property is available."

"We had a fabulous time in South Haven. Roberta was very easy to contact and very accommodating. This was our first visit to this property, but we have been to South Haven many times. The power went out the day we arrived and she went out of her way to make sure we were okay and even offered to put us up in a hotel. Thankfully it came on late that night. We had nice weather for the most part and beautiful sunsets. The screened in back porch was wonderful. One day we just read, napped and enjoyed cocktails on the couch and relaxing porch swing. The access to the beach was so easy. The house is about 3 houses from the main road (quiet) which you cross and then walk down some steps to a small quiet beach. Roberta has a wagon which works great to get your stuff to the stairwell. The place is very homey and has easy access to the beach, town, and the highway. It is well stocked with anything you could possibly need. It was just my husband and I, but there is a nice yard and fire pit area that would be great for kids and a larger group. There are a couple of things that I missed (but not a big deal): a dishwasher, an ice maker and more counter space in the bathroom. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and very reasonable-I would love to be sitting on the porch swing, reading a good book and enjoying a glass of wine right now - waiting to walk to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset!!"

"Our family of six adults and seven grown grandchildren had a wonderful, relaxing vacation at this home. The owners were very helpful with all my questions. The house was clean and the grandchildren enjoyed staying in the guest house. We used the deck a lot since it is so large. We rented a pontoon boat and really enjoyed the lake and the trampoline. The water is so clear and there is not much traffic on the lake, so it was a lot of fun."
